2026
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
3 ACCEPTING GROUP INSURANCE POLICY NO. 5147 -C OF OCCIDENTAL
LIFE INSURANCE COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, for some time past the City of Vernon has provided
group medical and hospital benefits to its employees and their dependents
pursuant to the terms of Group Policy No. 3801-H of Occidental Life
Insurance Company of California; and
WHEREAS. said Insurer has notified the City of Vernon, pursuant
to its option contained in said Policy No. 3801-H. that a 50% increase in
premiums would be required to keep said policy in force on and after
March 1. 1957; and
WHEREAS, the Insurance Committee of Employees of the City of
Vernon, representing all of the Departments thereof, has, at the request
of the City Council investigated the circumstances and considered alternate
plans of coverage and said Committee is of the opinion that the best plan
which has been made available within the time which the Committee has had
for consideration, is contained in Group Insurance Policy No. 5147 -C of
said Occidental Life Insurance Company of California.. and it is recommende ~
by said Committee that said Policy No. 5147-C be accepted. to take effect
and supercede the existing group medieal coverage of the City of Vernon
on March I, 1957;
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That Group Insurance Policy No. 5147-C of
the Occidental Life Insurance Company of California be.. and the same is
hereby accepted to take effect as of March I, 1957. and shall supercede
the existing group medical coverage contained in Policy No. 3801-H.
S.ECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall

1 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
2 s.aIne shall be in full force and effect.
3 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 19th day of February~ 1957.
