RESOLUTION OF THE OITY OOUNOIL OF THE om OF vmNON
APPROVING MEMORANDUM OF AGREEM1i2i'l' FOR ACCUMULATION OF THE
GAS TAX ALIDCATION TO crrm
WHEREAS, a memora.ndum of agreement has been presented.
to be entered into w1 th the State of Oalifornia for acCUIBU-
la.tion of the gas tax allocation to cities for the fiscal
year 19~ in the Oity of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, the city council has heard read said agree-
ment in full and is familiar with the contents thereof;
THEREFORE, be it resolved by the city council of the
City of Vernon that, under the provisions of Section 200 of
the Streets and Highwqs Oode, the gas tax allocated for
major city streets 'be aeeumuJ.ated for future expenditure,
and that said agreement be and the same is hereby approved, and.
the mqor and the citY' clerk are directed to sign the same on
behaJ.t of said city, said agreeme:nt to be binding upon the c1 ty
upon its execution by the authorized officials of the state.

to as the city, and the Department of Public Works of the

WI'l'NESSETH, THAT" WHEREAS, in accordanoe with the pro-
visions of Section 194 of the Streets and Highwqs Code"
the. departmeat sball expend or cause to be expendeci w:i:thin
the oities of this state the amount transferred to the State
Hig1:lll'q Fund in acoordanoe with Seotion 2107 for expendi-
ture upon major oity streets in the proportion that the total.
population of eaoh city bears to the total popu1.a.tion of aJ.l
oities in this State; and
WHEREAS, Under the provisions ot Section 200 of the
Streets and Highways Code the city desires to authorize tbe
aocumulation of funds accruing to said oity during the fis-
cal year ending June 30, 1.9.2!;

ment will accumulate and hold for future expenditure withim
the city, or until such time as the oity submits a budget
in acoordanoe with the provisions ot Section 197 of the

1957-1958 fiscal year, in accordance with the ~~~m~ntr.quest
submitted by you.
You will find attached to each copy a suggested form 01'
resolution for execution of the agreement by the city. The
form has been prepared for the city's convenience, and need
not be used if it conflicts with the city's practice.
The agreement should be signed by an official duly author-
ized by law to execute agreements on behalf of the city, and
should be accompanied by a certified copy of the resolution of
the city council approving the agreement and authorizing the
officer to sign said agreement.
Your attention is called to the white slip attached to
the original and duplicate copies, and also to the necessity
of datin the a reement and affixin the official seal of the
c ty to the agreement and accompanying resolution.
After the agreement has been signed by the city, please
return the original and duplicate to this office; the third
enclosed copy is for your files. Following the execution of
the original and duplicate copy by the Director of Public
Works, the duplicate executed copy will be returned to you.

ACCUMULATION AGREEMENT - 19S' FISCAL YEAR
MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT entered into by and between
the Cl ty of Ve!'JlOl1 , hereinafter. referred
to as the city, and the Department of Public Works of the
State of California, hereinafter referred to as the depart-
ment,
WITNESSETH, THAT, WHEREAS, in accordance with the pro-
visions of Section 194 of the Streets and Highways Code,
the department shall expend or cause to be expended within
the cities of this State the amount transferred to the State
Highway Fund in accordance l1i th Section 2107 for expendi-
ture upon major city streets in the proportion that the total
population of each city bears to the total population of all
ci ties in this State; and
WHEHEAS" unde:v the provisions of Section 200 of the
Streets and Highways Code the city desires to authorize the
accumulation of funds accruing to said city during the fis-
cal year ending June 30, 1958;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is mutually agreed that the depart-
ment will accumulate and hold for future expenditure within
the city, or until such time as the city submits a budget
in accordance with the provisions of Section '197 of the
