RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
FINDING A PORTION OF ST. CHARLES STREET IN THE CITY OF VERNON
IS UNNECESSARY FOR PRESENT OR PROSPECTIVE PUBLIC STREET
PURPOSES ANI> ORDERING ITS VACATION AND ABANDONMENT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
7 WHEREAS" the City Council of the City of Vernon passed
8 Ordinance No. 698 declaring its intention to vacate and abandon a portion
9 of that certain public street in the City of Vernon offi:Ci.alJy knOWI1~ :ana
10 commonly referred to~ as St. Charles Street~ which said portion is
11 hereinafter fully described; and
12 WHEREAS, the City Council in said Ordinance of Intention
13 No. 698, did fix the time for hearing all persons interested in or objecting
14 to the proposed vacation and abandonment as March 19, 1957 at 2 o'clock
15 p. m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall in the City of Vernon,
16 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon" California; and
17 WHEREAS, notices of said hearing and of the proposed street
.
18 vacation were posted in the manner and form required by law; and
19 WHEREAS, the City Council of said City of Vernon did hold
20 said hearing on March 19, 1957 at 2:00 o'clock p. m. in the Council
21 Chambers of the City Hall at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, California,
22 and no one appearing to object to said vacation and the Council being fully
23 advised in the matter;

SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does find and declare from the evidence submitted to the City Council that
the property described in Ordinance of Intention No. 698, as hereinafter
described, is unnecessary for present or prospective public street purposes.
SECTION 2:
The City Council of the City of Vernon does
hereby make thefoUowing order, to wit: That all that portion of St.. Charle
Street in the City of Vernon, described as follows:

All the real property situate in the City of Vernon,
County oiLos Angeles.. State of California, and being a
portion of C. M. Moore's Home Place as shown on map
recorded in Book 7, Page 82 of Maps, records of said
County, described as follows:
Beginning at a point in the northerly line of said C. M.
Moore's Horne PlaceS. 890 45' 20" W., 1212. 77 feet from
the intersection of said northerly line with the westerly line
of Santa Fe Avenue (30 feet wide).. said point of beginning
being in the southerly line of Replat of New Vernon as shown
on map recorded in Book 52, Page 45 of Miscellaneous Records
of said County and being in the southerly prolongation of the
easterly line of St. Charles Street as shown on Replat of New
Vernon recorded in Book 4.. Page 64 of Maps, records of said
County; thence S. 890 45' 20" W. along said northerly line of
C. M. Moore's Home Place 50.01 feet to a point in the south-
erly prolongation of the westerly line of said St. Charles Street;
thence S. 0 36.' 22" W. along said southerly prolongation of
the westerly line of St. Charles Street 393.62 feet, more or
less, toa point in the northerly line of 48th Street (50 feet wide)..
said northerly line being the northerly line of a strip of land
conveyed to the City of Vernon by deed recorded in Hook 20325,
Pa?,el06.. Official Records Qf said County; thence N. 89040'
15' E. along said northerly line of 48th Street 50.01 feet to a
point. in the southerly prolongation of the easterly line of said
St. Charles Street, said point being S. 89040' 15" W., 1215.70
feet from the westerly line of Santa Fe Avenue (30 feet wide);
thence N. 00 36' 22" E. along the southerly prolongation of the
easterly line of said St. Charles Street 393.55 feet, more or
less, to the point of beginning; containing an area of 0.45178
a.cre, more or less;
18 be, and the same is hereby closed up, vacated and abandoned for public
19 street purposes, as contemplated by Ordinance of Intention No. 698 of the
20 City of Vernon.

SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
22 cause a certified copy of this Resolution, under the seal of the City.. to be
23 recorded in the Qfficeof the County Recorder of Los Angeles County.

SECTION 4:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
