A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VE.RNON
3 EMPLOYING DARLING~ SHATTUCK &. EDMONDS AS SPECIAL COUNSEL

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

6 WHEREAS.. an application No. 38382. with amendments.. has
7 been filed by the Southern California Edison. Company before the Public
8 Utilities Commission of the State of California for an increase of rates
9 in the City of Vernon; and
10 WHEREAS. the City Council deems it advisable and for the
11 best interest of the City of Vernon that Darling. Shattuck & Edmonds.
12 attorneys-at"'law. be employed as special counsel in presenting the
13 opposition of the City of Vernon to the granting of the increase in rates.
14 and for the enforcement of the contract between the City of Vernon and the
15 Southern California Edison Company;
16 NOW" THEREFORE" BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
That Darling. Shattuck & Edmonds. attorneys
at-law. be and they are hereby employed as special counsel in prosecuting
the cause of the City of Vernon. on behalf of said City. with reference to
the application of the Southern California Edison Company pending before
the Public Utilities Commission of the State of California. being Application
No. 38382. and the preservation of the contractual rights of the City of
Vernon as set forth in contract between the City of Vernon and the Southern
California Edison Company dated the 23rd day of February. 1937. together
with all amendments and extensions thereto.
SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 19th day of March. 1957.
