5 THE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
DIRECTING THE. EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH AMERICAN CAN
COMPANY CONCERNING THE CONSTRUCTION OF A WAREHOUSE.
6 WHEREAS~ the American Can Company" a New Jersey corporation"
7 has by Agreement dated the 11th day of March" 1957" agreed to construct a
8 warehouse on 48th Street within the City of Vernon~ and providing for penaltie
9 in the event of its failure so to do; and
10 WHEREAS" on representations made by the American Can Company
11 the City of Vernon has abandoned certain street easements commonly re-
12 ferred to as St. Charles Street; and
13 WHEREAS" the City Council of the City of Vernon finds that it is
14 for the best interest of said City that the Agreement dated March 11" 1957
15 between American Can Company and the City of Vernon be executed by the
16 City of Vernon;
17 NOW. THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
That the Mayor and City Cler k are hereby
19 directed to execute~ for and on behalf of the City of Vernon" that certain
20 Agreement hereinabove referred to with the American Can Company" a New
21 Jersey corporation.

SECTION. 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
23 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
24 same shall be in full force and effect.
25 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 19th day of March" 1957.
