RESOLUTION NO. 205,0
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
APPROVING AGREEMENT DATED APRIL 12. 1957 EXECUTED BY
GRIFFIN WHEEL COMPANY$A CORPORATION.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS. the Griffin Wheel Company. a corporation. is conveying
to the City of Vernon Lots 13. 14 and 15 in Martha Tract. and has agreed to
convey said property free and clear of any personal property taxes for the
year 1957 -1958; and
WHEREAS. said Griffin Wheel Company has executed and presented
tothe City of Vernon an Agreement dated April 12. 1957. setting forth said
fact. a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A; and
WHEREAS. said Agreement has been approved as to form by
Carson B. Hubbard. City Attorney.
NOW $ THEREFORE~BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That said agreement executed by Griffin Wheel
17 Company. a corporation. agreeing to pa.ythe City of Vernon. a municipal
18 corporation.. any and all personal property taxes for the year 1957-1958 that
19 may bea lien on Lots 13. 14 and 15 in Martha Tract. is accepted by the City
20 of Vernon as complying with escrow instructions of Title Insurance and Trust
21 Company in escrow No. 4581923. wherein the City of Vernon requires a
22 guarantee of seller to pay all personal property taxes constituting a lien on
23 said Lots 13. 14 and 15 in Martha Tract in the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify
25 to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall

AGREEMENT
~
THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this /2. day of

, 1957, by and between GRIFFIN W}fJl!ET. COMPANY,
a corporation, state of Delaware~ "Seller" and CITY OF VBRNON~ a
municipal corporation, "Purchaser"; WITNESSBTH:
WHEREAS, Seller agrees to convey to Purchaser Lots 13, 14
and 15 in Martha Tract, in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles,
State of California, as per map recorded in Book 14 Page 188 of Mapa, in
the office of the County Recorder of Los Angeles County,. California, free
and clear of any personal property taxes of Seller for the year 1957-1958.
NOW. THEREFORE, Seller agrees to pay to Purchaaer, upon
demand any and all personal property taxes for the year 1957-1958 that
may be a lien upon the aforesaid property at the time of the conveyance to
the City of Vernon, a municipal corporation.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties have executed this qreemeat
in triplicate, the day and year first above written.
