RESOLUTION NO. 2053
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A REQUEST TO THE PUBLIC
UTILITIES COMMISSION OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA FOR ALLOCA-
TION FROM CROSSING PROTECTION FUND.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS. the 1953 Legislature by Statutes 1953. Chapter 1739..
.
appropriated $500. 000.00 from the State Highway Fund to the Public
Utilities Commission of the State of California. for allocation by s.aid
CommissIon to cities, counties. and cities and counties. on the basis of
ne.ed as determined by the said CommiSSion to assist them in paying their
share of the cost of constructing grade crossing protection work on city .J
county.. and city and county streets. roads and highways; and
WHEREAS. on January 18. 1954. the Public Utilities Commission
of the State of California issued CommissIon Order No. 48565. as amended..
pursuant to the said sta.tute, establishing procedures to be followed by
cities and counties in requesting such allocations from the Crossing
Protection Fund;
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the Mayor and City Clerk are hereby
authorized to execute for andonbehaU of the City of Vernon.. alIneces sary
documents of the City of Vernon to the Public Utilities Commission for
allocation of funds from the Crossing Protection Fund. in accordance with
the procedureestahlished by CommiSSion Order No. 48565.
SECTION 2:
Tha.t in accordance with the procedure
established by said order. the City Engineer and the City Attorney> are
hereby authorized to prepare and submit to the Public Utilities Commission
of the State of California all requests for grade crossing projects covered
by. such allocation.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
