RESOLUTION NO. 2060
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING A DEED FROM JOHN B. LEONIS~ .JR. AND JESMOR S.
LEONIS. HUSBAND AND WIFE. TO A PORTION OF THE 500 ACRE
TRACT OF THE LOS ANGELES FRUIT LAND ASSOCIATION. FOR
STREET PURPOSES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS~ John B. Leonis. Jr. and JesmorS. Leonis.
husband and wife~have granted to the City of Vernon a parcel of land being
a portion of the 500 Acre Tract of the Los Angeles .FruitLand Association~
for street purposes~ described as:
Parcel A. The westerly 20 feet of the easterly 40
feet of Lots 23 and 37. 500 Acre Tract of the Los Angeles Fruit
Land Association. as shown on map re.corded in Book 3~ pages
156 and 157. of Miscellaneous Records~ in the office of the
Recorder of the Gounty ofLo~r Angeles.
Excepting therefrom that portion thereof within the
northerly 20 feet of said .Lot 23.
Also excepting therefrom that portion thereof within
the southerly 20 feet of said Lot 23.
Parcel B. That portion of above mentioned Lot 23
within the following described boundaries;
Beginning at the intersection of the westerly line of the
easterly.40 feet of said lot with the southerly line of the northerly
20 feet of said lot; thence southerly along said westerly line to
the beginning of a curve concave to the southwest having a radius
of 10 feet. tangent to said westerly line and tangent to said south~
erlyline; thence northwesterly along said curve 15.71 feet to
said southerly line; thence easterly along said southerly line to
the point of beginning.
ParcelC~ That portion of above mentioned Lot 23
within the following described boundaries:
Beginning at the intersection of the westerly line of the
easterly 40 feet of said lot with the northerly line of the southerly

the following described boundaries:
Beginning at the intersection of the westerlyline of the

Above .described Parcels A toD inclusives are to be
known as DOWNEY ROAD;; and
WHEREAS, said description has been checked by the Engineering
Department of the City of Yernons and said deed has been approved as to
form by Carson B. Hubbard, CityAttorneys and it is recommended that
said Deed be accepted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION.!:
The City Council of the City of Veruon hereby
12 accepts the aforesaid Deed from John B. Leonis, Jr. and JesmorS. wLeon1s,
13 husband and wifes together with the property conveyed therebys and directs
14 the recording of said Deed with the County Recorder of Los l\.ngeles County..
15 California.

SECTION 2:
The City.Clerk of the City of Vernon is
17 hereby directed to certify to th.e passage of this resolution and thereupon and
18 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
19 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 4th day of June, 1957.
