8 WHEREAS, under date of July 31, 1957, Harold A. Barnett,
9 Com:rultingEngineer .of theCityofYernon. presented to the City Council
10 Specifications No. 2.14 for the construction of asphalt concrete pavement
11 resurfacing .inLeonis Boulevard" from Pacific Boulevard to Downey Road
12 in the City of Yernon; and
13 WHEREASs said Harold A. Barnett recommends that said
14 specifications be approved; and
15 WHE.REAS, the City .Couneilof the Gity.ofYernon has
16 investigated the general prevailing rate .of per diem wag~s to he paid
17 for the work done under said Specifications No. 214;
18 NOW.. THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOL YED:

SECTION 1:
That Specifications No. 214 be,and the
20 same are hereby approved for the construction of asphalt concrete pavement
21 resurfacing in Leonis Boulevard, from Pacific Boulevard to Downey Road
22 in said City..

The City Council of the City .of Yernon
has ascertained and does hereby find and declare that the1general prevailing
rate per diem for wages for laborers, workmen and mechanics employed
by contractors andsub"c.ontractorss for the doing pf any work set forth in
Specifications No. 214. are those wage rate schedules contained in said
Specifications..N o. 214.

The City.Clerk of the City.of Vernon
s:hallcertify to the passage of this Resoluti.on and thereupon and thereafter

Bidders are hereby notifiedthat~ pursuant to the provisions
of Sections 1770-17al.. ,inclusive.; Labor Code of Galifornias the City
Council of the Gity .of Vernon has ascertained the general prevailingrate
of per diem wages and rates for legal holidays: and over-time work in the
locality in which this work is to be performed.. for .eacheraft or type of
workman or mechanic needed to execute the contract whichwHl be awarded
to thesuccessfulbidders and that Resolution No. 2073 establishing these
preva;iUng rates is on file with the City.Clerkof the City of Vernon.
Notice is also given that.. pursuant to said Labor Code of
California~ it shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract
is awarded.. and upon any subcontractor under him~ to pay toaIIlaborerss
workmen or mechanics employed by them in the execution of thecontra.ct
not less than the said specified ratess which rates shall be included in the
contract to the successful bidder.
Notice is further hereby given that all bidders may submit
with their bids a sworn statement of their financial responsibility.. technical
ability and experience. Such sworn statement may be required to be fur-
nished before award is made to any particular bidder.
To be entitled to consideration.. each bid submitted pursuant
to this notice shaUbe made out on a: form to he obtained at the office of the
City;Engineer; shall be accompanied bya.certified checks draft or bid. bond~
payable at a bank authorized to do business in the State of California.. made

The above-mentioned check or bond shall be given as a
guarantee that the bidderwiIl enter into a contract if awarded to him and

1 will be declared forfeited if the successfuIbidder refuses or neg1ects to
2 enter into a contract of the required form after being requested to do so by

the City.Clerk of the City of Vernons California.
The successful bidder
4 win be required to furnish a labor and material bond in an amount equal to
5 fifty per cent (500/0) of the contract price. and a faithful performance bond
6 in an amount equal to one hundred per cent (100%) of the contract price.
7 Unless otherwise required by laws no bidder may-withdraw
8 his bid fora period of thirty (30) .days after the date set ior the opening
9 thereof.
10 Adepos.iLof ten dollars ($10..00') will be required to .secure
11 the Plans and Specifications s as a guarantee that the Plans and Specifications
12 will be returned" which deposit will be refunded in case same are returned
13 to the City in g90d condition not later than forty-eight (48) hourS" .after the

15 The City of Vernon reserves the right to reject any and all
16 bids or waive .any informality in the bid.
