RESOLUTION NO. 2082
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS NO. 215 FOR THE FURNISHING AND
DELIVERY TO THE CITY OF VERNON OF ONE PORTABLE AIR COM-
PRESSOR AND ACCESSORIES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, under date of September 10, 1957.;MasonsM.untz &
Associates.. Consulting Engineers of the City of Vernons presented to the
City Council Specifications No. 215 for the furnishing and delivery ofa
portable air compressor and accessories; and
WHEREASs said Consulting Engineers recommend that said
specifications be approved;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL.YED:
SECTION 1:
That Specifications No. 215 covering the
purchase of one portable air compressor and accessories for use of the
Engineering Department be, and the same are hereby approved.
SECTION a:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 17th day of September, 1957.

NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR
BIDS. FOR THE FURNISHING OF A PORTABLE
AIR COMPRESSOR IN ACCORDANCE WITH
SPECIFICATIONS NO. 215 OF THE CITY OF VERNON.
5 Pursuant to Resolution No. 2083.of the City .of Vernons adopted
6 on the 17th day .of Septembers 1957~ directing same.; notice is hereby given
7 that sealed proposals .or bids will be received by the City of Yernon~ Cali-
a fQrnia~ at the .office of the City Clerk of said Gitys at the City Halls 430;5
9 Santa Fe Avenue8 until the hour of two (2) otclock p. m.s on the 1st day of
10 Octobers 1957.. for the furnishing.;>f a portable air compre$s.or in accordance
11 with Specifications No.. 215 appr.oved by said City. The proposals will be
12 publicly opened and read in the Council Chambers of the City Hall located at
13 4305 Santa Fe Avenues Vernons Californias on the date and the time above
14 mentioned. Specifications and contract documents maybe obtained at the

above-mentioned office of the City Clerk upon payment of a deposito! ten
dollars ($10.00) .for each specification.
The equipment to be furnished under said specifications No. 215
is as follows:
Furnish and deliver one (1) portable two-stage oil-cooled
rotary air compressor and accessories with.one hundred
twenty-five cubic feet per minute (125 CFM) capacity at
one hundred pounds per square inch gauge (100 psig) pressure.
The equipment shall be in accordance with Specifications No. 215
heretofore approved by the City .Council of said CitYsand now on .file in the
office of the City Clerk of said City.. copy of which may be secured from the
City Engineer of said City.
Notice is further hereby given that all bidders may submit with
their bids a sworn statement of their financial responsibilitys technical
ability and experience. Such sworn statement may be required to be furnished
before award is made to any particular bidder.
To be entitled to consideration.; each bid submitted pursuant to this
notice shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the Office of the City

1 Engineer; shall be accompanied bya certified check, draft or bid bonds
2 pay.able at a bank authorized to do business in the State of California, made
3 payable at sight to the City Clerk of the City of Vernons in amount equal to
4 ten per cent (100/0) of the bid submitted, shall be delivered to the City Clerk
5 of the City of Vernonina sealed envelopeats or befores the time stated
6 hereius.and must he plainly marked "Proposal for Furnishing A Portable
7 Air Compressor."
8 The above mentioned check or bond shall he given as a guarantee
9 that the bidder will ent.er into a contract if awarded to him and will be de""
10 dared forfeited if the successful bidder refuses or neglects to enter into a
11 contract of the required form after being requested to do so by the City Clerk
12 of the City of Vernon, California. The successful bidder will be required to
13 furnish a faithful performance bond in an amount equal to one hundred per
14 cent (1000/0) of the contract price.
15 Unless otherwise required by laws no bidder may withdraw his
16 bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening thereof.
17 A deposit of ten dollars (~no. 00) will be required to secure the
18 Specifications s as a guarantee that the Specifications will be returneds which
19 deposit will be refunded in case same are returned to the City in good
20 condition not later than forty-eight (48) hours after the bids on the work will
21 have been opened.
22 The City of Vernon reserves the right to reject any and all pids
23 or waive any informality in the bid.
