6 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES/AS FOLLOWS:
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF A CONTRACT WITH MOFFATT &
NICHOL. 'INC.. CONSULTING ENGINEERS.. FOR THE PREPARATION OF
CONSTRUCTI.ON PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS TO WIDEN 26TH STREET
BRIDGE$ IN THE. CITY OF VERNON.
7 WHEREASs the City Council of the City Of Vernon deems it
8 advisable to construct new five foot sidewalks .on .outside .of spandrel wans
9 on 26th Street Bridge across the Los Angeles River; and
10 WHEREASs .Moffatt & Nichols Inc. s Consulting:E,ngineers.
11 have submitted to the City Council a contract for performing engineering
12 $ervices in the prepa ra.ti on of construction plans and specifications to
13 I widen said 26th Street Bridge as above set forth;
14 NOW, THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
That the Mayor of the City of Vernon bes and
16 he is hereby authorized to execute a contract with Moffatt & Nichols Inc. s
17 Consulting Engineers. for the preparation .of construction plans and specifica-
18 tions to widen 26th Street Bridge in accordance with Scheme I as submitted
19 by Moffatt & Nichol. Inc.. in their report of February 6 s 1957.; to provide
20 new five foot sidewalks on outside of spa.ndrel Wans.

SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shan
certify to the passage .of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in fun force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 17th day of Septembers 1957.
