THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: Wl:IEREASs under date ;of September 27s 1957.J Masons Muntz & Ass o9iates, Consulting Engineers s reported to the City Council that the bid of Downtown Ford Sales in the sum of $ls 966. 64 was the lowest bid obtainable for the purchase of one .1958Ford6 Cy~inder F500 one and one-.half ton cab and chassis with sevenwheelss as described in their bid; and WHEREASs said Consulting Engineers recommended that said bid be accepted; NOW, THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED: SECTION 1: That the City of Vernon be, and.it is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with.Downtown Ford Sales for the purchase of one 1958 Ford 6 Cylinder F500 one and one-half ton cab and chassiss with seven wheelss for the sum of $ls 966.64. SEGTION 2: The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect. ADOPTED and APPROVED this 1st day of Octobers 1957. Enoch Chevrolet General Motors Corp. $1,966.64 1,997.18 2,017.10 2,210.00 After receiving the cab and chassis, we will have installed by another company, a utility model body. For such a body, we have thus far received only one bid in an amount of $1,140.80. It is pro- posed to obtain further bids, if possible, for the body. The utility body will be along the lines in general use for such purposes and will have compartments for various tools and other equipment, so that the truck will be a self-contained unit always ready for regular or emergency semce. Another letter will be sent to you at the meeting of October 15, 1957 giving further details and asking for authority to purchase the body. Allaence has been provided in the current Water Department Budget for the truck as described above. It is therefore recommended that authority be granted for the purchase of the Ford Motor Company truck from Downtown Ford Sales for an amount of $1,966.64, as covered by their low bid, in accordance with the original thereof, attached hereto.
