APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS NO. 218 FOR THE FURNISHING AND
3 DEI...I'V'ERY TO THE CITY OF VERNON OF A BOOJM: TYPE JM:OBILE CRANE~
AND ACCESSORIES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS~ under date of November 14~ 1957, Mason, Muntz &
Associates~ Consulting Engineers of the City of Vernon~ presented to the City.
Council Specifications No. 218 for the furnishing and delivery of a boom type
mo.bile crane and accessories; and
WHEREAS, said Consulting Engineers recommend that said
specifications be approved;
NOW~ THER.EFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That Specifications No. 218 covering the
purchase of one boom type mobile crane and accessories for use of the
Engineering Department be~ and the same are hereby approved.
SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
17 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafte.r the
18 same shall be in full force and effect.
19 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 19th day of November, 1957.

NOTICE INVrrING SEALED PROPOSALS.OR BIDS
FOR THE. FURNISHING OF A BOOM TYPE MOBILE
CRANE IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS
NO. 218 OF THE CITY OF VERNON.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 2109 of the City of Vernon, adopted on
the 19th day of November, 1957, directing same, notice is hereby given
that sealed proposals or bids will received by the City of Vernon, California,
at the offic~ of the City Clerk of said City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe
Avenue, until the hour of two (2) o'clock P. M. ~ on the 3rd .day of December,
1957, for the furnishing of a boom type mobile crane in accordance with
Specifications No. 218 approved bysaid City. The proposals will be publicly
opened and read in the Council Chambers of th.e City Hall located at 4305
Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon, California, on the date and the time above men-
tioned. Specifications and contract documents may be obtained at the above-
mentioned office of the City Clerk upon payment of a deposit of ten dollars
($10.00) for each specification.
The equipment to be furnished under said spec.ifications No. 218
is as follows:
Furnish and deliver one (1) hydraulic powered boom type
mobile crane and accessories, with allowance for trade in
of one (1) 1952 Model GMC boom truck.
The equipment shall be in accordance with Spec.ifications No. 218
heretofore approved by the City Council of said City, and now on file in the.
office of the City Clerk of said City, copy of which may be secured from the
City Engineer of sald City.
Notice is further hereby given that all bidders may submit with their
bids a sworn statement of their financial responsibility, technical ability and
experience. Such sworn statement may be required to be furnished before
award is made tOflny particular bidder.
To be entitled to consideration, each bid submitted pursuant to this
notice shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the office of the City
Engineer; shall be accompanied by a c~rtified check, draft or bid bond,
payable at a bank authorized to do business in the State of California, made

payable at sight to the City Clerk of the City of Vernon~ in amount equal to.
ten per cent (10%) of the bid submitted, shall be delivered to the, City Clerk
Theaho.vementioned check or bond shall be given. asa guarantee
that the bidder will enter into a contract if awarded to him and w.Ul be
declared forfeited if the successful bidder refuses or neglects to enter into a
contract of the required form after being requested to. do. se;> by the City Clerk
of the City of Vernon~ California. The successful bidder will be required to
furnish a faithful performance bond in an amount equal to one hund.red per
cent (100%) of the contract price.
Unless otherwise required by law. ~ no bidder may withdraw his bid
for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set far theop.ening thereQf.
A deposit of ten dollars ($10.00) will be required to secure the
Specifications~ as a guarantee that the Specifications wUl be returned~ which
deposit Will be refunded in case same are returned to the City in good co.n-
dition not later than fo.rty....eight (48) hours after the bids on the work will
have been opened.
'Ihe City o.f Verno.n reserves the right to reject any and all bids or
waive any info.rmality in the bid.
