A :RESOLUTION OF THE. CITY COUNCIL OF TIlE CITY OF VE.MON.
CALIFORNIA.. CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE. HOLDINQ OF A
:REGULA:R MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE H:ELD IN SAID CITY ON
TUESDAY.. THE 8TH DAY OF APRIL. 1958. FOR THE E.LECTION OF
CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE p:ROVISIONS
OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL
LAW CITIES AND FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS
OF SAlD CITY OF. A CE:RTAIN QUESTION. I.E. lfSH.ALL THE OFFICES
OF CITY CLER.K AND CITY TREASU:RER BE APPOINTIVE? II
WHE:REAS. under the provisionsafthe laws relating to
general law cities in. the ,State ofCalifornia..- a regular general municipal
election shall be held on the 8th day of April. 1958. for the elect1onof
.three(3) members of the City Council af said City for the full term of four
years; and
WHEREAS. the City Council of said City also desires to sub-
mit to the qualified electors af said City at said election the question.

NOW . THEREFORE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON. CALlFORN1A~ DOES H:EREBY RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
That pursuant to the requirements of the
laws of the State of California relating to general law cities within said
State# there shall be. and there is hereby called and ordered,. held in the
City of Vernon. County of Los Angeles . State of California. on Tuesday.
the8th.day of April. 1958. a regular general municipal election of the
qualified electors of said City for the purpose of electing three (3) members
of the City Council of said City.for the full term of four years.
SECTION 2.:
That said City Council pursuant to its right
and authority to do s.o,. does hereby determine that there shall be and there
is hereby ordered submitted to the qualified electors of -said City at said
regular general municipal election the foUovvlng question. towit:

AND CITY TREASUR.ERBE APPOINTIVE.? "

SECTION 3:
That the ballots to be used at said election
2 shall be.. both as to form and matter contained therein.. s:u.chas may be
3 required by law to be used thereat.

SECTION 4:
That the City Clerk .of said City is hereby
5 authorized, instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all
6 official ballots.. notices. printed matter and all supplies,. equipment and
7 paraphenalia that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully
8 conduct said election.

SECTION 5:
That for the purpose of holding said regular
10 general municipal election,. there will b~ one voting prednct.desig:nated
11 voting precinct 1 and consisting of the regular election precinct established
12 in the City of Vernon for holding State or County elections. and the polling
13 place shall be the Lobby of Vernan City Hall. 4305 Santa Fe Avenue. Vernon~
14 California.

SECTION 6:
That the election officers to conduct said
16 General Municipal election to be held on Tuesday. April 8,. 1958.. in the
17 City of Vernon.. California. are hereby appointed and designated as. follows :

SECTION 7:
That the polls far said election shall be
open at seven otclock A. M.,. of the day o.fsaid election and shall remain
open continuously from said time until seven o'clock P. M.of the same day.
when said polls shalI be closed, except as provided inSe.ction 5734 of the
Elections Code .of the State of California..
SECTION 8:
That in all particulars not recited in
this Resolution. said election shall be held and conducted as provid.ed by law
for holding municipal elections in said City.

That noticeo:f the time and place of
2 holding said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized.
3 instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of Said
4 election in time, form and manner as required by law.

SECTION 10:

6 shall certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupanand thereafter
7 the same shall be in full force and effect.
