A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
CQNS:ENTING TO AND APPROVING THE ACTS OF THE BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS OF THE. COUNTY OF LOS ANGELE.S. STATE OF CA.LIFOR
IN ADOPTING A RESOLUTION DECLARING OOWNEY ROAD WITHIN THE
CITY OF . VERNON AS PART OF THE COUNTYSYSTE.M: OF HIGHWAYS OF'
SAID LOS ANGELES COUNTY.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VER.NON RESOLVES. AS FOLLOWS:
8 WHERE.AS~ the Board of Supervisors of the County of Los
9 Angeles. State of California. did on February 25~ 1958~ declare Downey
10 .Road between Slauson Avenue and approximately 100 feet northerly of
11 LeonisBou1evard in the City of Vernon a portion of the County.System of
12 Highways of said Los Angeles County. to be improved with construction of
13 curb, gutter. drainage, structures. pavement. grading. and other work
14 incidental or appurtenant thereto. as set forth in said resolution; and
15 WHEREAs.. the Board of Supervisors of said County has
16 requested the consent of the City Council of the City. of Vernon to perform
17 said work;
18 NQW. ..THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby consent to and approve the action of the Board of Supervisors
of the County of Los .Ange1es~ State of California.. in dec1aringDowney .Road
between Slauson Avenue and approximately 100 feet northertyofLeonis
Boulevard. in the City.of V ernon~ to be a part of the County.System of High-
ways of Los Angeles County.. as provided in Sections 1700 to 1702 inc1us.ive
of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.
SECTION 2:
T he City .Council of the City of Vernon does
hereby consent to the improvement by said County of Los Angeles of Downey
Road between Slauson Avenue' and approximately 100 feet northerly of Leonis
Boulevard. in the manner provided for in said resolution of the Board of
Supervisors of said Los Angeles County~ adopted February 25. 1956.

III RE DOWIIEY ROAD IN THE CITY OF VEBJlON: RESOLUTION DECLARING SAID ROAD TO
BE APART OF THE COUNTY SYSTEM OF HIGHWAYS .AND REQUESTING CONSENT OF SAID CITY
TO ITS IMPROVEMEN'f BY THE COUNTY.
On motion of Supervisor Legg, duly carried by the following vote, to wit:
Ayes: Supervisors Legg, Hahn, Ford and Chace; Noes, none (Supervisor Dorn
being temporarily absent), it is ordered that the following resolution be and
the same is hereby adopted:
WHEREAS, by reason of its location and travel thereon, the hereinafter des-
cribed road in the City of Vernon, County of Los Angeles, State of California,
should be a part of the system of County Highways in said County; and,
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of the Board of Supervisors of said county to
improve said road, provided the consent of the governing body shall first be
given;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT" RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County
of Los Angeles, state of California, that ~he following named road between the
limits thereof indicated in the table below, and being within the City of
Vernon is hereby declared to be a part of the system of h~ghways of said
County as provided in sections 1700 to 1702, inclusively of the streets and
Highways Code of the State of California.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by the Board of Supervisors that said road be im-
proved by said County in the manner set forth in the table below, provided the
consent of the gove~ing body of said City shall first be given.
