TEE. CITY COtJ]lCILOF TEE CITY OF V'ERNON R.ESOLVES AS FOLLOWS;
WHER.EAS.. a general municipal electian was held in the City
af Vernan an Tuesday, April 8, 1958, far the purpase af electing three (3)
members of the City Cauncil, far the fun term of four (4) years, and far
thepurposeaf voting on a. certain question; and
WHEREA$.,U appearing that said election was heldan.d con-
ducted in accordance with the .General Election Laws af the State af
California" a.s far as same were applicable; that the City Cauncil g~Ye
such notice of said eleotian as is prescribed by taw and appointed aBoard
af Election" fixed their compensatian" esta.blished an election precinct and
polling place" and that aaid eleotion was held and canducted and votes cast
thereat were received and canvassed and the returns therean were made
in the time, farm an.dmanner required by law; and
WI:l.l~alEAS" the City Cauncil af the City af Vernon did meet at
their nsualplaceof meeting on April 15.. 1958" being the first Tuesday ;UteI'
the said general municipal election" and that at said meeting the . said City
Cauncil canvassed the votes cast at said general municipal electionll including
the absentee ballots. Whereupan it was faund thai the tatal number of votes
cast in said city WaS fiffy...iwa (52); that the number af precincts used in
s;rldelectian WaS ane(l);
T~ the City Clerk adviaed the City Conn-oil that one (1) absentee
ballot was applied far and issued. That the number af absentee ballats
returned if{ ane (1). Thereupan the signature appearing an thea:pplication
and the signature appearing an th.e identificatianenvelope were checked with
the signature on the registration certificate and were in each case found to. be
identical. The name appearing. an theenyelope was audibly announced and
no. challenge was made. The envelape was then openedll the numbered stub

That the question "Shalltne offices of City Clerk and City
Treasurer be appointive' n was
adopted
.
That the City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall immediately
~igll and deliver to each person elected a certificate of election" . and
administer to each person elected the oath of office prescribed by the
State Constitution.
That the said oath shall be subscribed by the officers so elected"
and when so subscribed the same shall be filed with the City Clerk of the
City of Vernon.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to c.ertify to the passage of
