RESOLUTION NO. 2174
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNClL OF TIlE CITY OF VERNON
3 ACCE.PTING THE BID OF UTILITY CONSTRUCTION CO. FOR THE
CONSTRUCTIO:NOF Tl!tANSMISSlONMAIN ANDRATE-OF-'FLOW CONTROL
4 PIPING IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFlCATIONS NO. 209 HERETOFORE
APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WllEREAS,on May 6~ 1958" sealed bidS were opened for the
constl'1lction of transmiSsion main and rate-of-flow control piping-in
accordance with .Specifications No. 209 of the City of Vernon; and
WHEltEAS, said bids were referred to James .M.Mon.tgomery~
consulting engineer" who has reported to the City Council under date of
May 15.. 1958" giving his recommendations; and
WHEREAS" gaidSpecifications No. 209 were heretofore apprOVed
by the City Council by Resolution No. 2131 on Febl'1lary 4" 1958; and
WHEREAS~ gaid .James M. M.ontgomery recommends awarding
the contract to Utility Construction Company for the sum of $.72~ 781.00
being the lowest bid received meeting the specification requirements;
NOW" THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED: .
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
20 doeg hereby authorize the execution of a contract with Utility Construction
21 Company for the construction of transmission main and rate-of..fiow control
22 piping in accordance with Specifications No. 209 heretofore approVed 1:>y the
23 City Council.

SECTION 2:
That all other bids are rejected" and the City
Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to returnall checks to unsucceasful
bidders.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution a.:ndo.thereupon and thereafter the
s.a;me shall be in full force and effect.
