RESOLUTION NO. 2208
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
3 DIRECTING THE GIVING OF NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR
BIDS FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY TO THE CITY OF VERNON
4 OF TEN (10) PORTABLE F-M TWO-WAY RADIOPHONES IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CITY OF VERNON SPECIFICATIONS NO. 226.

6 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
8 directed to give notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the furnishing
9 and delivery to the Gity of Vernon of ten (10) portable F-M Two-Way Radio-
10 phones in accordance with Specifications No. 226.. and the Notice Inviting
11 Sealed Proposals contained in said Specifications No. 226.

SECTION 2:
There being no newspaper of general circula-
13 tion printed~ published and circulated in the City of Vernon, the City Clerk
14 is hereby directed to post said notice..- or cause the same to be posted.. in
15 three (3) of the most public places in said city.. to wit: the northwest corner
16 of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard
17 and Pacific Boulevard.. and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall
18 of the City of Vernon..- located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue in said City.

SECT ION 3:
The first posting of said notice shall be not less
20 than ten (10) days before the date of opening bids for the proposed equipment.
211 The notice shall distinctly state the equipment to be furnished.

SECTION 4:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
23 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
24 same shall be in full force and effect.
25 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 2nd day of September~ 1958.

NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR THE FURNISHING AND
DELIVERY TO THE CITY OF VERNON
OF TEN (10) F-M TWO-WAY RADIOPHONES
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CITY OF VERNON
SPECIFICATIONS NO. 226
6 Pursuant to Resolution No. 2208 of the City of Vernon..- adopted
7 on the 2nd day of September.. 1958 directing same.. notice is hereby given
8 that sealed proposals will be received by the City of Vernon.. California..-
9 at the City Clerk's office of said City at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue.. Vernon 58..
10. California.. until 2:00 o'clock p. m... on September 16.. 1958, for the fur-
11 nishing and delivery to the City of Vernon of ten (10) Portable F-M Two-Way
12 Radiophones. in accordance with Specifications No. 226 approved by said
13 City. The proposals will be publicly opened and read in the Council Chamber
14 of the City Hall located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue.. Vernon, California, on the
15 date and at the time above mentioned. Specifications and contract documents
16 may be obtained at the above mentioned office of the City Clerk.. upon payment
17 of a deposit of ten dollars ($10.00) for each specifica.tion.
18 The equipment to be furnished under said specifications is as
19
follows:
Five (5) Portable F-M Two-Way Radiophones to be on frequency
20 of 45.58 KC.. and five (5) Portable F-M Two-Way Radiophones to be on
21 frequency of 154.13 KC.. Police Department and Fire Department Channels,
22 respectively.

ACCEPTANCE OR REJECTION
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and accept
any bid which in its judgment will produce the most satisfactory and economica
result.. suited to the requirements of Office of Civil Defense of said City.
The bidder is required to specify the proposed date of delivery
and the City Council shall take into consideration in awarding the contracts
the time required for the delivery of said new Portable F-M Two-Way
Radiophones.

1 SCHEDULE OF PROPOSALS
2 Each proposal must be delivered to the City Clerk of the City
3 of Vernon,," City Hall.. 4305 Santa Fe Avenue. Vernon. California" in sealed
4 envelopes.. at or before the time stated in this notice, and must be plainly
5 marked "Proposal fOr the Furnishing and Delivery to the City of Vernon
6 Ten (10) new Portable F-M Two-Way Radiophones". No oral or telephonic

9 BOND REQUIREMENT
prnposal will be accepted.
10 All bids must be accompanied by a certified check" draft. or
11 bid bond. payable at a bank authorized to do business in the State of Cali-
12 fornia, in amount equal to ten per cent (100/0) of the bid submitted, and shall
13 be delivered to the City Clerk of the City of Vernon along with the proposa1.
14 Un.successful Bidder's check or bond will be returned when the contract
15 is awarded. The successful Bidder's check will be returned when the
