2225
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING THE BID OF C. O. SPARKS.. INC. & MUNDO ENGlNEER.ING
COMPANY.. A JOINT VENTURE OF CALIFORNIA CORPORATIONS.. FOR
THE RECONSTRUCTION OF DOWNEY ROAD FROM HOLABIRI> AVENUE
TO 26TH$TREET IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS NO. 225
HERETOFORE APPROVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL.
THE CITY COUNCIL O]f THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS~ Specifications No. 225 wer.e approved by the City
Council by Resolution No. 2216 on September 16. 1958 and pursuant thereto
sealed bids Were opened on October 7. 1958; and
WHEREAS~ said bids were referred to the City Engineer who
has reported to the City Council under date of October 10.. 1e58~ recommend..;
ing that a contract be awarded to C. O. Sparks, Inc. and Mundo Engineering
Company for the sum of $8.082.53# it being the lowest bid received meeting
the specification requirements;
NOW. THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award the contract in accordance with the City Engineerts
recommendations and authorizes the execution of a contract with C. Q.
Sparks. Inc. and Mundo Engineering Company. a joint venture of California
Corporations~ for the reconstruction of Downey Road from Hola:birdAvenue
to 26thStreet~ in accordance with Specifications No. 225 heretofore approved
by the City Counci1.
SECTION 2:
That all other bids are rejected.. and the City
Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to' return all checks or drafts to
unsuccessful bidders.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same
shall be in fun force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 21st day of October~ 1958.
