Officers on patrol, and particularly during peak traffic
times morning and night, are experiencing difficulties
in controlling newsboys. These boys make a habit of
standing in the middle of the street to sell papers, or
of darting out in front of autos. This practice is ex-
ceedingly dangerous to the individual, and on several
occasions has caused near traffic collisions. Several
warnings have been issued to these boys, all with nega-
tive results.
It is recommended that the City pass an ordinance pro-
hibiting this type of activity.
