QRANTING A Z.oNING VARlANCE TO FEDERAL ICE &; COLD ST.oMGE
CO.MPANY" A CALIFORNIA CORPORATI.oN.
THE CITY COUNCIL .oF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
THAT WlIEREAS., .an application for a zoning variance was filed
with the City Clerk of th.e City of Vernon on the 13th day of October" 1958. by
the Federal Ice &; C.old St.orage Company.. a California corporation.. for a
variance under the provisions of Sect1on6. 1 of Ordinance No. 541.of the City
of Vernon# and all amendments thereto, on that certain parcel of land
situated in tl1e City of Vernon and more parti.cularly described.as follows, to
wit:

Council having heard the matter on the 28th day of November, 19.58.. at the

1 NOW, THEREFO:R,E,THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
2 VERNON FINDS AS FOLLOWS:

That the property hereinabove referred t.o anddes.c.ribed is
4 suitable for Ute purpose for whicl1. the petitioner reque.stbtg said variance
5 intends to use it, to wit: poultry processing. in addition to such other uses

6 as are lawful in the zone in which the property is located# subject to. certain
7 restrictions.

That unnecess.ary hardship would be put upon petftion.er and
9 the owner of Maid property in the use of said property if its request for.a
10 variance was denied.

That results inconsistent with Ute general. purpo.ses of
12 Ordinance No. 541, and all amendments Utereto#would result if the request
13 for sucll variance waS denied.

That there are exceptional orextra.ordinaryeircUInstances
or conditions applicable to the property involved, or to the intend~d use Of the
property, that do not apply generally to the property or class of USes in the
same district or zone.

Tlultsuch variance is nece.ss:a,ry for the preservation and
enjoyment of a .substantial property right of the petitioner.

That thegrantingoi such variance will not be materially

NOW, THEREFORE.. the variance covering the property herein-
above described is granted for the USe of poultry processing.. inadditi.on to
such other uses as are lawful in the zone in which the property is located,
subject to the following terms and conditions which the CityCounci1 d~ms
proper to preserve the pNbUc he.a1th.. safety..eonvenience# welfare andth,e
gener.a1 intent and purposes of the s()~o:l"dinanee:
1. That no rendering.. coo.king# drying.. heating or processing
of greas.e, fat, offal, blood, feat.hers or any.otheranimal or poultry waste

That all regulations of the City of Vernon Building Depart-

3 with construction of b.uildings. and installat1onsof equipment on said property.

That all regulations of the Los Angeles County Air pollution

That the premises be kept free of vermin, flies and rodents

That the premiaes be kept .free from causing", allowing or

That the conditional variance hereby allowed is conditioned
on the privileges granted .herein be.ing utilized within ninety (90) days froID.
and after the effective date hereof, and should the:privileges authori.z.ed
hereby fail to b.eex:erci.sed or utilized, or", where .so.me form of construction
work is invol ved,$ucl1 construction or som.eunit thereof h.a$ not actually
commenced w.ithin such ninety (SO) days after said effective date, this
resolution shall be void and anyprivileg,eor variance granted hereby shall
lapse, unless8uch time h.a$ been extended by resolution of the CityC()uncil.
9.
That in th,e event the privileges granted herein shall not
have been exercised with..insuc.h ninety (90) days by reason of the delay in
the approval of plans by any officer or department of the City of Vernon
having jurisdiction thereof", the CityCoun.cll may by resolution grant an
extension of the time so specified in the preceding paragraph when such:
extension shall hav.e been recommended by th.eofficer or department of the
City of Vernon having juris.diction to gra.nt approval of such pla:ns.
A copy of this Itesolution is to be filed in the records of the proceed-
ingaon the ~tition for varianCe. and a copy mailed to the Applicant.

The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify to the passage
2 of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall be infuU force
