A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING ONE FOUR-INCH GATE VALVE~ TWO SIX-INCH GATE VALVES
AND ONE TWENTY-INCH CHECK VALVE FROM GRINNELL COMPANY OF
THE PACIFIC IN ACCORDANCE WITH SCHEDULE n OF SPECIFICATIONS
NO. 208 AND ADDENDUM NO. 1 TO SAID SPECIFICATIONS~ HERETOFORE
APPROVED BY THE CITY OF VERNON.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS# on March 18, 1958. Grinnell Company of the Pacific
was awarded the contract for Schedule II of Specifications No. 208 for the
furnishing of one four-inch gate valve~ two six-inch gate valves and one
twenty-inch check valve; and
WHEREAS~ Arthur E. Nelson.. Jr... City Engineer# has reported to
the City Council under date of December 11~ 1958~ that said items have been
delivered in a satisfactory manner ~ and recommends that said valves be
accepted and payment made in accordance with the terms of the contract,
as reduced by the sum of $204. 26 per agreement between the parties;
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED:
That one four-inch gate valve~ two six-inch gate
SECTION 1:

valves and one twenty-inch check valve be~ and the same are hereby accepted
as being satisfactory and in accordance With Schedule II of Specifications
No. 208 and Addendum No. 1 to said specifications~ heretofore approved by
the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2:
That there is now due Grinnell Company of th.e
Pacific the sum of $1~ 817.67. being the contract price as reduced by the
sum of $204. 26 per agreement between the parties, and the City Council
hereby directs payment of said sum to said Company upon the adoption of this
Resolution.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify
to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 16th day of December~ 1958.
