AUTHORIZING L. R.. BURCH. FISCAL OFFICER. TO EXECUTE AN
4 AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND THE STATE OF
CALIFORNIA. CALIFORNIA DISASTER OFFICE.

6 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
That L. R. Burch, Fiscal Officer. be, and he
9 is hereby authorized to execute an Agreement between the City of Vernon
10 and the State of California.. California Disaster Office# copy of which agree-
12
11 ment is attached to this Resolution.
SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify
13 to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall
14 I remain in full force and effect.

AGREE.MENT
THIS AGREEMENT entered into this 1st day of October, 1958. by
and between the STATE OF CALIFORNIA, acting by and through its duly
appointed, qualified and acting Director of the California Disaster Office,
hereinafter called CDQ, and the undersigned political subdivision# herein-
after called Agency;
WIT N E SSE T H:
WHEREAS. pursuant to Resolution No. 2063 of the City Council
of the City of Vernon# .state of California. passed and adopted on the 4th
day of June, 19571 Agency signified its intention to participate in the civil
defense surplus property program and desires to continue to participate;
and
WHEREAS# CDO finds it necessary to employ additional personnel
in order to render adequate service to the cities and counties in connection
with the civil defense surplus property program;
NOW * THEREFORE. It is mutually agreed between the parties
hereto as. follows:
1. CD.O agrees to provide technical and cle.rical assistance to Agency at the
three surplus property warehouses located in North Sacramentol San
Leandro and Los Angeles. In order to compensate State for this
additional.service. CDO will invoice Agency, not less often than quarterl ,
for 10% of the service and handling charges assessed by the Educational
Agency for Surplus Property on any items purchased. and Agency agrees
to pay CDO for such charges within sixty (60) days of date of each invoice.
2. This Agreement shall commence on the lst day of October, 1958. and
shall terminate on the 31st day of December. 1962# subject to the right
of either party to terminate the Agreement by giving the other party
written notice at least 30 days prior to such termination.
