3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
AUTHORIZING THE. EXECUTION OF A JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT
4 BETWEEN THE CALIFORNIA DISASTER OFFICE ANI) THE CITY OF
VERNON. FOR THE.RE-E$TABLISRMENT OF THE AREA E.CIVIL.DEFENSE
5 AND DISASTER ORGANIZATION.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

8 WHEREAS.. the California DiSaster Office has requested the City
9 of Vernon iQ enter i.nto a jQint powers agre em. ent for the re-establishment
10 of the Area E Civil Defense and Disaster Organization; and.
11 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon deems it
12 advisable to enter into sa.id Agreement# upon receipt of same.
13 NOW~ THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
That the Mayor and the City Clerk be, and
15 they are hereby authorized to enter into a Joint Powers Agreement with
16 the California: .Disaster Office for the re-estabUshment of the Area E Civil
17 Defense a.nd Disaster Organization, upon receipt of said Agreement# and the
18 City Clerk is hereby requested to notify the California Disaster Office of
19 the pas.sa.ge of this Resolution.

SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shaU
21 certify to the passa.ge of this Resolutio.n, and thereupon and thereafter the
22 same shall be in full force and effect.
