RESOLUTION NO. 2284
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
3 AUT RORIZING THE .COUNTY COUNSEL TO SIGN A STIPULATION~ ON
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF VERNON~ WAIVING THE STATUTE OF
4 LIMITATIONS FOR ONE YEAR ON CLAIMS REMAINING UNPAID AT THE
TIME THE STATUTERUNS~ FOR REFUND OF TAXES COLLECTED ON
5 POSSESSORY INTERESTS IN PERSONAL PROPERTY OF DEFENSE PLANTS.

THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

8 WHEREASs the County Couns.el has advised by tetter dated
9 June 29, 1959.. that it will ta.ke approximately one month after the tim.e for
10 filing actions on claims for refund of taxes collected on possessory interests
11 in personal property belonging to defense plants, and has asked for a
12 stipulation waiving the bar of the statute for one year so that it will not be
13 necessary for the claimants to file actions in order to protect their rights.
14 NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
16 hereby authorizes. the County Counsel to execute, on behalf of the City of
17 Vernon.. a stipulation waiving the statute of limitations on claims for refund
18 of taxes on possessory interests in personal property belonging to defense
19 plants.

The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
SECTION 2:
21 certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
22 same shall be in full force and effect.
23 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 7th day of July, 1959.
