RESOLUTION NO. 2298
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING THE BID OFC. O. SPARKS.. INC. AND MUNDO ENGINEER-
ING COMPANY.. A JOINT VENTURE OF CALIFORNIA CORPORATIONS"
.FOR THE RESURFACING OF SOTO STREE.T FROM THE LOS ANGE.LES
RIVER BRIDGE TO THE SOUTH CITY.BOUNDARY IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 22.7 HERETOFORE APPROVED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL.
THE CITY. COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
9 Resolution No. 2287 on August 4. 1959 and pursuant thereto sealed bids
10 were opened on September 1~ 1959; and
11 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to the Traffic Engineer who
12 has reported to the City Council under date of September 4, 1959. recom-
13 mending that a contract be awarded to C. O. Sparks~ Inc. and Mundo
14 I Engineering Company for the sum of $28~ 273.40, it being the lowest bid
15 received meeting the contract requirements;
16 NOW.. THEREFORE" BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon does
18 hereby award. the contract in accordance with the Traffic Engineerts
19 recommendations and authorizes the execution of a contract with C. O.
20 Sparks. Inc. and M.undo Engineering Company~ a joint venture of California.
21 Corporations~ for the resurfacing of Soto Street from the Los Angeles River
22 Bridge to the south city boundary, in accordance with Contract No. 227
23 I heretofore approved by the City Council.

24 !I SECTION 2: That all other bids are rejected~ and the City

Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to return all checks or drafts to
unsuccessful bidders.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify
to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
