RESOLUTION NO. 2311
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
3 DIRECTING THE GIVING OF NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR THE FURNISHING AND INSTALLING OF TWO THREE-WAY
4 FM RADIO COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS FOR THE CITY OF VERNON~ IN
ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS NO. 233 OF SAID CITY.

THE.CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECT ION 1:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
8 directed to give notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the furnishing and
9 instaUingof two three-way FMRadio Communication Systems for the City
10 of Vernon" and the Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals contained in said
11 Specifications No. 233.

SECT ION 2:
There being no newspaper of general circulation
13 printed" published and circulated in the City of Vernon" the City Clerk is
14 hereby directed to post said notice~ or cause the same to be posted" in three
15 (3) of the most public places in Said City" to wit: the northwest corner of
16 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard
17 and Pacific Boulevard~ and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall
18 of the City of Vernon. located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue in said City.

SECTION 3:
The first posting of said notice shall be not
20 less than ten (10) days before the date of opening bids for the proposed
21 equipment. The notice shall distinctly state the equipment to be ordered.

SECTION 4:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shan
23 certify to the passage of this Resolution" and thereupon and thereafter the
24 same shan be infull force and effect.

5 Pursuant to an order of the City Council of the City of Vernon given
6 on the 5th day of January, 1960~ directing same, notice is hereby given
7 that sealed proposals or bids will be received by the City of Vernon, Cali-
8 fornia, at the office of the City Clerk of said City. at the City Hall, 4305
9 Santa Fe Avenue~ until the hour of two {2) olclock P. M. on the 19th day of

supplies. To transmit and receive on 154.13 and 154.25 mc
complete.
11 - Mobile units with completely transistorized receiver and power
supplies. To transmit and receive on 154.13.
1 - Spare transmitter and receiver without accessories (not installed)
5 - 6 to 12 -volt transistorized converters

California, the work to be in accordance with Specifications No. 233. hereto-

1 fore approved by the City Council of said City~ and now on file in the Office
2 of the City Clerk of said City~ copy of which may be secured from the City
3 Clerk of said City.
4 Bidders are hereby notified that, pursuant to the provisions of
5 Sections 1770-1781~ inclusive~ Labor Code of California~ the City Council
6 of the City of Vernon has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem
7 wages and rates for legal holidays and over-time work in the locality in
8 which this work is to he performed~ for each craft or type of workman or
9 mechanic needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the success
10 ful bidder.. and that Resolution No. 2310 establishing these prevailing rates
11 is on file with the City Clerk of the City of Vernon.
12 Notice is also hereby given that. pursuant to said Labor Code of
13 California, it shall be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract
14 is awarded~ and upon any Sub-Contractor under him.. to pay to all laborers..
15 workmen or mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract
16 not less than the said specified rat es.. which rates shall be included in the
17 contract to the successful bidder.
18 Notice is further hereby given that all bidders may submit with
19 their bids a sworn statement of their financial responsibility~ technical
20 ability and experience. Such sworn statement may be required to be fur-

nished before award is made to any particular bidder.
To be entitled to consideration... each bid submitted pursuant to
this notice shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the Office of the City
Clerk; shall be accompanied by a certified check.. draft or bid bond~ payable
at a bank authorized to do business in the State of California.. made payable
at sight to the City Clerk of the said City of Vernon, in amount equal to ten
per cent (10%) of the bid submitted~ shall be delivered to the City Clerk of the
City of Vernon in a sealed envelope at, or before~ the time stated herein.
and must be plainly marked~ "Proposal for Furnishing and Installing of Two
Three-Way Radio Communication Systems for the City of Vernon". All
bids will be opened and publicly read aloud at or about two (2) olclock P. M.
of the 19th day of January~ 1960~ in the City Council Chamber.

The above mentioned check or bond shall be given as a guarantee
2 that the bidder will enter into a contract if awarded to him and will be de-
3 dared forfeited if the successful bidder refuses or neglects to enter into a
4 contract of the required form after being requested to do so by tne City Clerk
5 of the. City of Vernon, California. The successful bidder will be required
6 to furnish a labor and material bond in an amount equal to fifty (50) per cent
7 of the Contract price, and a faithful performance bond in an amount equal to
8 one hundred (100) per cent of the contract price.
91 Unless otherwise required by law1 no bidder may withdraw his bid
10 for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening thereof.

A ~eposit of Ten Dollars ($10. OO) will be required to Secure the
12 Specifications, as a guarantee that the Specifications will be returne~ which
13 deposit will be refunded in case same are returned to the City in good con-
14 dition not later than twenty-four (24) hours after the bids on the work will
15 have been opened.

The City of Vern.on reserves the right to reject any and all bids
17 or waive any informa.lity in the bid.
