2317
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNONI'
CALIFORN~ CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE HOLDING OF A
REGULAR GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY
ON TUESDAY ~ THE 12TH DAY OF APRIL~ 1960, FOR THE ELECTION OF
CERTAIN OFFICERS 6F SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS
OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL
LA WCITJES.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to general
law cities in the State of California. a regular general municipal election
shall be held On the 12th day of April~ 1960.. for the electi0n of two (2)
members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years;
NOW, THEREFOREI' THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE.AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
That pursuant to the requirements of the laws
of the State of California relating to general law cities within said State,
there shall be~ and there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of
Vernon, County of Los Angeles~ State of Ca1ifornia~ on Tuesday, the 12th
day of April.. 1960~ a regular general municipal election of the qualified
electors of said City for the purpose of electing two (2) members of the
City Council of said City for the full term of four years.
SECTION 2:
That the ballots to be used at said election
shall be~ both as to form and matter contained therein~ such as may be
required by law to be used thereat.
SECTION 3:
That the City Clerk of said City is hereby
authorized~ instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all
official ballots.. notices, printed matter and all supp1ies~ equipment and
paraphenalia that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully
conduct said election.
SECTION 4:
That for the purpose of holding said regular
general municipal election.. there will be one voting precinct.. designated
voting precinct 1 and consisting of the regular election precinct established
in the City of Vernon for holding State or County elections.. and the polling

California.
SECTION 5 :
That the election officers to conduct said
general municipal election to be held on Tuesday~ April 12~ 1960~ in the
City o! V ernon~ California. are hereby appointed and designated as follows:
Inspector:
(1) Mrs. Dora S. Wallace
(1) Mrs. Margarett J. Colbeth
(2} Mrs. Lillian C. Corella
Judge:
Clerks:
Mrs. Kathryn M. Hogan
Each of said election officers aforementioned being an elector and residing
in the City of Vernon~ and the compensation of said election officers shall
be $15.00 for his or her services at said election.
SECTION 6:
Tha t the pollS for said election shall be open
at seven oJclock A. M. ~ of the day of said election and shall remain open
continuously from said time until seven o'clock P. M. of the same day" when
said polls shall be closed~ except as provided in Section 5734 of the Elections
Code of the State of California.
SECTION 7:
That in all particulars not recited in this
Resolution~ said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for
holding municipal elections in said City.
SECTION 8: That notice of the time and place of holding
said election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized.
instructed and directed to give such further or additional notice of said
election in time. form and manner as required by law.
SECTION 9:
1'he City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
