RESOLUTION NO. 2334
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING THE. BID OF VERNON pAVING COMPANY FOR THE RE-
CONSTRUCTION OF VERNON AVENUE FROM SOTO STREET. TO DOWNEY
ROAD IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 235 HERETOFORE
APPROVED .BY THE CITY COUNCIL.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHE:aEAS, Contract No. 235 was approved by the City Council
by Resolution No. 2325 and pursuant thereto sealed bids were opened on
April 5, 1960; and
WHEREAS# said bids were referred to David D.Grayson# Traffic
Engineer, who has reported to the City Council under date of April 12,
1960# recommending that a contract be awarded to Vernon PavingComp:any
for the sum of $115,052.00# it being the lowest bid received meeting the
contract requirements;
NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award the contract in accordance with the Traffic Engineerts
recommendations and authorizes the execution of a contract with Vernon
Paving Company for the reconstruction of Vernon Avenue from $otoStreet
to Downey Road in accordance with Contract No. 235 heretofore approved by
the City Coun.cil.
SECTION 2:
That all other bids are rejected, and the City
Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to return all checks or drafts to
unsucce.ssful bidders.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
