B.ESOLUTION NO. 2359
A RESOLUTlON OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING TIlE BID OF WESTATES ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION
COMPANY FOR THE INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SlGNALS AT ;DOWNEY
ROAD AND VERNON AVENUE .IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 242
HERETOFOR.E APPROVE;D BY THE CITY COUNCIL.
THE CITY . COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS~ Contract No. 242 was approved by th.e CityColltlcil
by Resolution ~o. 2351 and pursuant thereto sealed bids were opened on
July 5" 1960; and
WHEREAS" said bids were referred to David D. Grayson"
Traffic Engineer~ who has reported to the City Council under date of July 6"
1960. recom.m.ending. that a. contract be awarded to. WestatesElectrical
Construction Company for theaum of $4" 990. 00# it being the lowest bid
received meeting the contract requirements;
NOW" THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the CUyof Vernon
does hereby award the contact in accordance with the Traffic Engineer's
recommendations and authorizes th.eexeeutionof a contract with Westates
Electrical Construction Company for the installation of traffic signals at
Downey Road .and Vernon Avenue in accordance with Contract No. 242 hereto-
fore approved by the City. Council.
SECTION 2:
That all other bids are reJected" and the
City Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to return all checks or drafts
to unsuccess:ful bidders.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the pass.age of this Resolution and thereupon and thereafter th.e
same shall be in full force and effect.
