A RESOLUTION OFTBE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING THE BID OF VERNON PAVING COMPANY FOR THE B,ECON-
STRUCTION OF ALCOA AVENUE FROM VERNON AVENUE: TO FRUIT-
LAND AVENlJE.. IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 238 OF SA1D
CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, Contract No. 238 was approved by the City Council
of the City of Vernon by Resolution No. 2383, and pursuant thereto.s:ealed
bids were opened on October 4.. 1960; and
WHEREAS.. said bids were referred to David D. Grayson..
Traffic Engineer.. who has reported to the City Council under date of
October 13.. 1960.. recommending that a contract be awarded to Vernon
Paving Company, for the sum of $84, 394. 84.. it being the lowest bid
received meetlng the contract requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award the contract in accordance with the recommendation of
David D. Grayson.. Traffic Engineer.. and authorizes the execution of a
contract with Vernon Paving Company.. 3200 Vernon Avenue, Vernon..
California.. for the reconstruction of Alcoa Avenue from Vernon Avenue
to Fruitland Avenue in accordance with Contract No. 238 heretofore
approved by the City. Council.
SECTION 2:
That all other bids are rejected.. and the City
Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to return all checks or drafts to
unsuccess.ful bidders.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passa.ge of this Resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 18th day of October, 1960.
