RESOLUTION NO. Z394
A RESOLUTION OF mE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WITHDRAWING CERTAIN TERRITORY FROM THE EAST LOS ANGELES
COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon did annex certain territory
lying within the East Los Angeles County Fire Protection District; and
WHEREAS, on the 24th day of October, 1960, Frank M.
Jordan, Secretary of the State of California, did certify the completion of
said annexation;
NOW.. THEREFORE" BElT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
The City Council of the City of Vernon, under
authority granted by.Section 14540 of the Health and Safety Code of the
State of California.. does declare that certain territory designated as
"Vernon-Riverside Annexation No.2" withdrawn from the East Los Angeles
County Fire ProtectionDistrict. Said "Vernon-Riverside Annexation No.2"
is more particularly described as:
Beginning at the intersection of the northwesterly line of
Atlantic Boulevard (formerly Atlantic Avenue}<and the northeasterly
boundary of the City of Vernon as per map filed in book 3 at page 19
of Official Maps in the office of the Recorder of Los Angeles County,
California; thence southeasterly along said northeasterly boundary
to the true point of beginning at a northeasterly corner of the boundary
of the City of Vernon as shown on said map; thence southwesterly
along said Vernon City boundary and following the same in all its
various courses to an intersection with the boundary of the City of
Maywood as it existed on December 1, 1959; thence southerly along
said last mentioned boundary and following the same in all its various
courses to the northerly line of Parcel No. I described in Final
Judgment of Case No. 466051 of the Superior Court of the State of
California in and for the County of Los Angeles recorded in book
18919 at page 288 of Official Records in the office of the Recorder
of said county; thence easterly along said northerly line to the
northerly line of Slauson Avenue as shown on map of Tract 7923
fUed in book .113 at page 80 of Maps in the office of the Recorder of
said county; thence easterly along said northerly line of Slauson
Avenue and the prolongation thereof to the southeasterly corner of
Lot 109 of said Tract 7923; thence southeasterly to the north-
westerly corner of that parcel of land described in deed recorded
in book 18618 at page 32 of Official Records in the office of the
Recorder of said county; thence northwesterly along the south
line of the Los Angeles River flood control right of way and its
northwesterly prolongation as shown on map of said Tract 7923
to the true point of beginning.

SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
2 hereby directed to file a certified copy of this resolution with the State Board
3 of Equalization.. the Governing Body of the East Los Angeles County Fire
4 Protection District, the Los Angeles County Clerk, the Registrar of Voters,
5 and the Los Angeles County Assessor.

SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City 'Of Vernon shall
7 certify to: the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the
8 same shall be in full force and effect.
9 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 15th day of November.. 1960.
