RESOLUTION NO. 2441
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
OPPOSING CONSOLIDATION OF THE MUNICIPAL COURT DISTRICTS
OF LOS ANGELES" CALIFORNIA.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has
under consideration consolidation of the present twenty-three Municipal
Court Districts of said county into nine districts; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has studied
said proposal; and
WHEREAS.. said City Council feels that the consolidation will
decrease the quality of local justice, increase police department costs and
inconvenience cities and attorneys using Municipal Courts;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby opposes cons.olidation of the twenty-three Municipal Court Districts
of Los Angeles County into nine districts.
SECTION 2:

The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 18th day of April, 1961.
