RESOLUTION NO.
2442
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING THE BID OF PITTSBURGH-DES MOINES STEEL COMPANY
FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 750,000 GALLON ELEVATED WATER
TANK, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 253 OF SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, Contract No. 253 was approved by the City Council
of the City of Vernon by Resolution No. 2416, and pursuant thereto s.ealed
bids were opened on April 18~ 1961; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Robert H. King,
Superintendent of Water and Sewer Systems, who has reported to the
City Council under date of April 28~ 1961~ recommending that a contract
be awarded to Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel Company, for the sum of
$262,800.00, it being the lowest bid received meeting the contract require-
ments.
NOW~ THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of
Vernon does hereby award the contract in accordance with the recommenda-
tion of Robert H. King~ Superintendent of Water and Sewer Systems, and
authorizes the execution of a contract with Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel
Company, Post Office Box 2012~ El Monte, California, for the construction
of a 750~ 000 Gallon elevated water tank, in accordance with Contract No.
253 heretofore approved by the City Council.
SECTION 2:
That all other bids are rejected~ and the
City Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to return all checks or drafts
to unsuccessful bidders.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this Resolution~ and thereupon and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
