3 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING THE BID OF GRIFFITH COMPANY FOR RECONSTRUCTION
4 OF FRUITLAND AVENUE FROM SOTO STREET TO DOWNEY ROAD~ IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 246 OF SAID CITY.
RESOLUTION NO.
2458
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS~ Contract No. 246 was approved by the City Council
of the City of Vernon by Resolution No. 2425.. and pursuant thereto sealed
bids were opened on June 6~ 1961; and
WHEREAS~ said bids were referred to David D. Grayson~
Traffic Engineer~ who has reported to the City Council under date of June 9..
1961 recommending that a contract be awarded to Griffith Company for
the sum of $101~ 704. 04~ it being the lowest bid received meeting the
contract requirements.
NOW.. THEREFORE~ BE. IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award the contract in accordance with the recommendation of
David D. Grayson.. Traffic Engineer.. and authorizes the execution of a
contract with Griffith Company.. 1060 South Broadway.. Los Angeles 15~
California.. for reconstruction of Fruitland Avenue from Soto Street to
Downey Road.. in accordance with Contract No. 246 heretofore approved by
the City Council.
SECTION 2:
That all other bids are rejected.. and the City
Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to return all checks or drafts to
unsuccessful bidders.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution~ and thereupon an.d thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 20th day of .June~ 1961.
