RESOLUTION NO. 2485
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING TIlE BID OF GEORGE MILLER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY
FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A SANITARY SEWER IN SANTA FE AVENUE
FROM 57TH STREET TO SLAUSON AVENUE.. IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 262 OF SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS~ Contract No. 262 was approved by the City Council
of the City of Vernon by Resolution No.2473~ and pursuant thereto sealed
bids were opened on September 5" 1961; and
WIlEREAS~ said bids were referred to Arthur E. Nels-on~ Jr."
City Engineer" who has reported to the City Council under date of September
5" 1961 recommending that a contract be awarded to George Miller Con-
struction Company" for the sum of $8, 728. 50" it being the lowest bid
received meeting the contract requirements.
NOW" THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award the contract in accordance with the recommendation of
Arthur E. Nelson~ Jr. ~ City Engineer" and authorizes the execution of a
contract with George Miller Construction Company" 3032 Bandini Boulevard,
Vernon (Los Angeles 23)~ California~ for the construction of a. sanitary
sewer in Santa Fe Avenue from 57th Street to Slauson Avenue~ in accordance
with Contract No. 262 heretofore approved by the City Council.
SECTION 2;
That all other bids are rejected" and the City
Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to return all checks or drafts
to unsuccessful bidders.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution" and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force .and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 19th day of September~ 1961.
