RESOLUTION NO. 2491
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING THE BID OF SULLY-MILLER CONTRACTING COMPANY
FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF 50TH STREET FROM ALCOA AVENUE
TO DOWNEY ROAD" IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 265 OF
SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS" Contract No. 265 was approved by the City Council
of the City of Vernon by Resolution No. 2465" and pursuant thereto sealed
bids were opened on August 15, 1961; and
WHEREAS" said bids were referred. to David D. Grayson"
Traffic Engineer, who has reported to the City Council under date of
August 28~ 1961 recommending that a contract be awarded to Sully-Miller
Contracting Company, for the sum of $2~ 895. OO~ it being the lowest bid
received meeting the contract requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award the contract in accordance with the recommendation of
David D. Grayson~ Traffic Engineer, and authorizes the execution of a
contract with Sully-Miller Contracting Company, 3000 E. South Street~ Long
Beach 5" Ca1ifornia~ for the improvement of 50th Street from Alcoa Avenue
to Downey Road, in accordance with Contract No. 265 heretofore approved
by the City Council.
SECTION 2:
That all other bids are rejected" and the
City Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to return all checks or drafts
to unsuccessful bidders.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 5th day of September, 1961.
