RESOLUTION NO. 2518
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING ONE EIGHTY-FOOT FIRE TOWER AND LADDER TRUCK
MOTOR FIRE APPARATUS~ IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATIONS
NO. 254 HERETOFORE APPROVED BY THE CITY OF VERNON.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, on February 21, 1961, P. E. Van Pelt, Inc. was
awarded the contract for the furnishing and delivery of one Eighty-Foot
Fire Tower and Ladder Truck Motor Fire Apparatus in accordance with
Specifications No. 254 , to be used by the Fire Department; and
WHEREAS. 1.. C. Husted, Fire Chief, has reported to the City
Council under date of December 5, 1961, that said equipment has been
received in a satisfactory manner, and that payment should be made in
accordance with the contract;
NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That one Eighty-Foot Fire Tower and Ladder
Truck Motor Fire Apparatus be. and the same is hereby accepted as being
satisfactory and in accordan-ce with Specifications No. 254 heretofore
approved by the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2:
That there is now due P. E. Van Pelt, Inc. the
sum of $46, 303.45, being 90% of the contract price, and the balance of
$5, 144.83 is due thirty-five (35) days after th.e passage of this resolution,
and the City Council hereby directs payment of said sum to said Company
upon the adoption of this Resolution, and the balance thirty-five (35) days
thereafter.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall certify
to the passage of this. Resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall
be in full for ce and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 19th day of December, 1961.
