RESOLUTION NO.
2550
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON.
3 CALIFORNIA. RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL
ELECTION HELD IN SAID CITY OF VERNON ON THE 1 OTH DAY OF
4 APRIL~ 1962. DE CLARING THE RESULT THEREOF AND SUCH OTHER
MATTERS AS ARE PROVIDED BY LAW.

6 WHEREAS~ a general municipal election was held in the Cit;)'
of Vernon on Tuesday~ April 10, 1962~ for the purpO'se of electing three (3)
7 members O'f the City Counci1~ for the full term of fO'ur (4) years; and
8 WHEREAS~ notice O'f said election was duly and regularly given
in time. fO'rm and manner as provided by law; that voting precinct was
9 prO'perly established; that election officers were appointed and that in all
respects said electiO'n was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat.
10 received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and
manner as required by the provisions O'f the Elections CO'de O'f the State of
11 California for the holding O'f elections in general law cities; and
12 WHEREAS, on the 17th day of April, 1962~ at the hO'ur of twO'
p. m. ~ the City CO'uncil duly assembled at its usual place of meeting has
13 canvassed the returns O'f said election and as a result O'f which. the City
Council finds that the number of vO'tes cast and the names O'f the persons
14 vO'ted for, the office each persO'n was vO'ted for~ and other matters required
by law to be as stated hereinafter;

NOW. THEREFORE. THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
16 VERNON. CALIFORNIA. DOES RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
17 SECTION 1: That there was one voting precinct established
for the purpose of holding said election consisting O'f the regular electiO'n
18 precinct in the City of Vernon as established fO'r the holding of state and
county elections.

SECTION 2: That said regular general municipal election
20 was held fO'r the purpO'se of electing the fO'llO'wing officers of said City as
required by the laws relating to general law cities in the State O'f CalifO'rnia,
21 to wit:
Three members of the City Council of said City fO'r the
22 full term of four years.
23 SECTION 3: That the whO'le number of votes cast in said
City (except absent voter ballots) was 55.

That the whO'le number of absent voter ballO'ts cast in said City
25 was 1, making a tO'tal O'f 56 vates cast in said City.
26 SECTION 4: That the names of persons voted for at said
electian far Member afthe City CO'uncil of said City are as fallows:

SECTION 5:
The City Council does declare and determine
that:
Genevieve Anderson was elected as Member of the City
Council of said City for the full term of four years;
Leonis C. Malburg was elected as Member of the City
Council of said City for the full term of four years;
Judith M. Poxon was elected as Member of the City
Council of said City for the full term of four years.
SECTION 6: The City Clerk shall enter on the records of
the City Council of said City~ a statement of the result of said election,
showing:
(l) The whole number of votes cast in the city;
(2) The names of the persons voted for;
(3) For what office each person was voted for;
~4) The number of votes given in the city to each person.
SECTION 7: That the City Clerk shall immediately make
and, upon compliance by the persons elected with the provisions of Section
11565 and Section 11568 of the Elections Code of the State of California, shall
deliver to each of such persons so elected a certificate of election signed by
him and duly authenticated; that he shall also administer to each person
elected. the oath of office prescribed in the State Constitution of the State of
California and shall have them subscribe thereto and file the same in his
office. Whereupon, each and all of said persons so elected shall be inducted
into the respective office to which they have been elected.
SECTION 8: The City Clerk is hereby directed to certify
to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and thereafter the same shall
be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 17th day of April. 1962.
