RESOLUTION NO.
2558
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF SANITARY SEWER IN SANTA FE
AVENUE FROM 57TH STREET TO SLAUSON AVENUE, IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 272 OF SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, Arthur E. Nelson, Jr., City Engineer, has reported
to. the City Co.uncil under date o.f May 9, 1962, that the co.nstruction of a
Sanitary Sewer in Santa Fe Avenue from 57th Street to Slauson Avenue has
been co.mpleted in accordance with Contract No. 272; and
WHEREAS, Arthur E. Nelson has recommended that the work
be accepted and payment made to th.e Contractor in accordance with the
agreement;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That theco.nstruction of a sanitary s.ewer in
Santa Fe Aven.ue fro.m 57th Street to Slauson Avenue be, and the same is
hereby accepted in accordance with Contract No.. 2.72 hereto.fore approved
by the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2 :
That partial payments in amount of $13,414.06
have been made, and the remaining fifteen percent, or the sum of $2., 367.19
is payable thirty-five (35) days after the adoption of this resolution, and the
City Council hereby directs payment of said sum to the Contractor, Geo.rge
Miller Construction Company.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vern,on shall
certify to the passage o.f this Resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 15th day of May, 1962.
