A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
DIRECTING THE GIVING OF NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR BOOSTER PLANT NO.3, REMOTE CONT.HOL AND
REPOHT-j3ACK SYSTEM. IN ACCORDANCE WITH. CONTRACT NO. 284
OF THE CITY OF VERNON.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
The City. Clerk of th.e City of Vernon is
hereby directed to give notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for Booster
Plaut No.. 3, Remote Contral and Report-B.ackSystem.. .in accordance with
Contract No. 284, and the Notice Inviting Sealed Proposals or Bids cO.n-
tained in s:ald Contract No. 284.
SECTION 2:
The re being no newspaper of general
circulation printed, published and circulated in the City of Vernon. the
City Clerk is hereby directed to post saldnotice, or cause the same tone
poated, in three (3) of the most public places in aaid City, to wit: the north....
west corner of 38th Street and Santa F.e Avenue; the northeast corner of
LeonisBoulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the bulletin board in the
lobby of theClty Hall of the City of Vernan, located at 430-5. Santa Fe Avenue
in said City.
SECTIONS:
The first posting of s.aid notice shall he not
less than ten (10) dayS before the date of apening bids for the proposed work.
The .notice shall distinctly state the materials to he furnished and the work
to. be done.
SECTION 4:

The City Clerk of the City of Vernon SChall
certify to the pas:s.age of this Resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full farce and effect.

ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. Z84 OF
THE CITY OF VERNON.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 2573 of th.e City of Vernon, adopted
on the 7th day of August, 1962., directing same. notice is hereby given that
sealed proposals or bids will be received by the City of Vernon. California
at the office of th.e City Clerk of said City" at City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe
Avenue" until the hour of two (2}Qtclock P.M., on the 21st day of August,
1962 for the Booster Plant No. 3. Remote Control and Report-Back System..
in accordance with Contract No. 284 approved by said City.
The proposals: will be publicly Qpened and re.ad in the Council
Ch.ambersof the City Hall located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue" Vernon"
California, on the date and at the time above mentioned. Speclficati<.Fna:
and contract documents may be obtained at the above-mentioned office of
th..e City Clerk upon payment of a deposit of tendollarB ($1.0.00) for each:

The construction sh.al1 be 1.n accordance with. Plans No. WS 1681
and Contract No. 284 heretofore approved by the City Council of said City,
and now on. file in th.eoffice of the City Clerk of aaid City" copy of which may
be secured from the City Engineer of saidC1.ty.
Bidders are hereby notified that, pursuant to .the provisions of
Sections 1770-1781, inclusive, Labor Code of California.. the City Council
of the City of Vernon has aacertain.ed the general prevailing rate of per diem
w ages and rates for legal h.olidays and over-time work in the locality in Which
this work is to be performed, for each craft or type of workman or mecnanic
needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to th.eauccessful bidder.
and that the Resolution establishing these prevailing rates i-son file with. the
CUy Clerk of the City of Vernon.
Notice is also bereby given th.at. pursuant to said Labor Code of
California, it sball be mandatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract
is awarded. and upon any subcontractor under him. to pay all laborers,

Engineer; shall be accompanied by a certifiedch:eck, draft or bid hond,
payable at a bank authorized to do business in the State of California, made
payable at sight to the City Clerk of the City of Vernon, in amounte.qual to
ten per cent (lO~)of the bid submitted, shall be delivered to th:e City Clerk
of th.e City of Vernon in a aealedenvelope at, or before, the timestat-ed herein,
and must be pla.i.nlymarked ..Proposal for Contra.ct No. 284".
The above-mentioned check or bondahall be given as a guarantee
that the bidder will enter into a contract if awarded to him and will be
declared f()rfeited if ~ successful bidder refuses or neglects to enter into
a contract of the required form after being requested to do s, by the City
Clerk of the City of Vernon, California. The succesaful bidde.rwill be
required to fu.rnish. a labor and material bond in an amount equal to fifty per
cent (50%) of the Contract price, and a faithful performance bond in an
amount equal to one hundred per cent (lOO1-) of the Contract price.
Unlessotherwlse required by law, no bidder maywithdraw his.
bid for.a period of thirty (SO) days after the date aet for the opening .th.ereof.
A deposit of ten dollars ($10.00) will be required t6:secure the
Plans and Specifications, as. a guarantee that the Plans and Specifications
will be retwrned, which deposit will be refunded in case same are returned
to the City in good cQndition not later than forty-eight (48) hours after the
bids on the work will have b.een opened.
