7 WHEREAS" Contract No. 285 was approved by the City Council
A RESOLUTION OF THEClTY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING THE BlDOF G. J. PAYNE COMPANY FOR THE IMPROVE-
:MENT OF BANDINI BOULEVARD.. DOWNEY ROAD TO AYE:aS AVENUE"
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 285 OF SAID CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
8 of the City of Vernon by Resolution No. 2510 and pursu.ant thereto sealed
9 bids were opened on August 21" 1902; and
10 W:HEREAS" said bids were referred to David D. Grayson"
11 T raffle Engineer" who has reportedt 0 the City Council under date of
12 .August 29" H162" recommendingthat a contract be awarded to G.J. Payne
13 Company for the EJumof $15" 439. 25~ it being the lowest bid received meeting
14 the contract requirements;
15 NOW, THEREFORE" BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1:
Thai: the City Council of the City of Ve:rnon
17 does hereby award the contract in accordance with the recommendation of
18 David D.Grayson, Tra.ffic Engineer, and authorizes the execution of a
19 contract with G. .J. Payne Company~ 9950 Jefferson Boulevard" Culver City"
20 California" for the improvement of Bandini Boulevard" Downey Road to
21 Ayers Avenue" in a.ccordance with Contract No. 285 heretofore approved by
22 the City Council.

SECTION 2:
That all other bids are rejected" and the City
24 Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to return all checks or drafts to
25 unsuccessful bidders.

SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the pa.ssage of this Resolution" and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in fun force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 4th day of September" 19G2.
