A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACCEPTING THE BID OF WE.STATES ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION
COMPANY FOR INSTALLATION OF TRAFFIC SIGNALS AT ALCOA
AVENIJE AND FRUITLAND AVENUE. IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 288 OF SA.In CITY.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON ItESOLVESAS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, Contract No. 288 was approved by the City Council
of the City of Vernon by Resolution No. 2602 and pursuant thereto sealed
bids were opened on January 2, 1963; and
WHEREAS.. said bids were referred to David Grayson. Traffic
Engineer, who has reported to the City Council under date of January 7.
1963. recommending th.at a contract be awarded to Westates .Electrical
Construction Company. for the sum of $12. 171.50, it being the lowest bid
received meeting the contract requirement;
NOW. TliEREFOItE. BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award the contract in accordance with the recommendation of
David D. Grayso:n.. Traffic Engineer, and authorizes the execution of a
contract with Westates .Electrical Construction, Company, 8900 Bellanca
Avenue, .Los Angeles 45, California. for the. installation of traffic signals
at Alcoa Avenue and Fruitland Avenue. in accordance with Contract No. 288
heretofore approved by the City Council.
SECTION 2.:
That all other bids a.re rej ected. and the City
Clerk is hereby instructed and directed to return all checks or drafts to
unsuccessful bidders.
SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.
