RESOLUTION NO. 2665
2 A :R.E$()LUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON
ACC$PTINQ THE IMPOSITION OF ADDITIONAL HIGHWAY USERS
3 TAXES ANJ.) FEES PUR$UANT TO CHAPTE.R 185Z.STATUTES OF 1963.
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES .AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
To comply with. th.e provisions of Section 10.2
6 of the Collier-Unruh Local Transportation Development Act (Streets and.
7 Highways Code Section 186.1), the City of Vernon hereby adopts a Resolu--
8 tion approving the imposHlon of additional highway users taxes and fees
9 pursuant to said act.

SECTION 2:
The City desires apportionments to be made to
11 it tn accordance with provisions of said Secticmof the Act and is aware of
12 the necessity of c.o.nforming to the matching requirements preseribed by
13 SectiOn 14 of s.aid Act (Streets and Highways Code SecUc)U 186. 5h

SECTION 3:
AU moniesreeeived by the City from the State
15 under .th.e pro~ions of Section 10. 2 of said Act shaIl be paid into the
16 Special Gas Tax Street Improvement Fund and expended exclusively for
17 acquisition of rights-of-w.ay for andcons.truction of routes on the select
18 system ofcitystreetsestabllshedas provided in Section 12 of said Act
19 (Streetsa.nd IUghways:Code Section 186. 3J.

SECTION 4:
Incompliance with said Act the City Clerk is
21 directed to send a properly. certified copy of this Resolution to the Depart-
22 mentof Public Works at Sacramento, California.

SECTlON 5:
The CHy Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
24eertlfy to the passage of this Resolution. and thereupon and thereafter the
25 same Shall be in full fo.rce and effect.

'l'he Collier-UnIuh Local Transportation Development
Act (Chapter 1852 of the Statutes of 1963) adds Section 186.1
to the Streets and Highways Code to provide funds in amount
equal to the net revenue derived from one and four one-hundredths
cents ($0.0104) per gallon tax under the Motor Vehicle Fuel
License Tax Law for apportionment among counties and cities
for use exclusively for county road and city street purposes.
Attached for your information is a tabulation
which includes the estimated allocations to be made to your
city in accordance with the provis s of this Act for the
1963-64 fiscal year.
Also attached is suggested wording for the
resolution required by Section 10.2. This Section states:

RESOLUTION NO.
ACCEPTING THE IMPOSITION OF ADDITIONAL HIGHWAY
USERS TAXES AND FEES PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 1852,
STATUTES OF 1963
The City Council of the City of
resolves as follows:
SECTION 1. To comply with the provisions of
Section 10.2 of the Collier-Unruh Local Transportation
Development Act (Streets and Highways Code Section 186.1),
the City of hereby adopts a Resolution
approving the imposition of additional highway users taxes
and fees pursuant to said Act.
SECTION 2. The City desires apportionments to be
made to it in accordance with provisions of said Section of
the Act and is aware of the necessity of conforming to the
matching requirements prescribed by Section 14 of said Act
(Streets and Highways Code Section 186,,5).
SECTION 3. All monies received by the City from
the State under the prOVisions of Section 10.2 of said Act
shall be paid into the Special Gas Tax Street Improvement
Fund and expended exclusively for acquisition of rights-
of-way for and construction of routes on the select system
of city streets established as provided in Section 12 of
said Act (Streets and Highways Code Section 186.3).
SECTION 4. In compliance with said Act the
City Clerk is directed to send a properly certified
copy of this Resolution to the Department of Public
Works at Sacramento, California.

TO ALL CITIES AND COUNTIES:
SUBJECT: Resolutions Required of Cities and
Counties Pursuant to Collier-Unruh
Loca~ Transportation Development Act~
The Collier-Unruh Local Transportation 'Development Act3 Chapter 1852
of the Statutes of 19633 provides under Section 10.2 (Section 186.1 of
the Streets and Highways Code) in part the following:
"No apportionment shall be made to any City or County
pursuant to thi~ Section unless it has adopted a Resolution
stating that it approves the imposition of the additional
highway users taxes and fees...and that it desires such
apportionments to be made to it and has transmitted a copy of
such Resolution to the Department."
To assist the Cities and the Counties in the preparation of this
Resolution, two recommended Resolution types are forwarded herewith--
one for County use and one for City use. While it is not mandatory
that each City or County use this specific form, it is suggested that
it be used in order to obtain State-wide uniformity.
