RESOLUTION NO. 2674
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON APPROV
ING CONTRACT NO. 302 FOR THE FURNISHING OF ONE SURVEY TRUCK
AND DIRECTING THE GIVING OF NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 302 OF THE CITY OF
VERNON.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS~ under date of December 12~ 1963~ Arthur E. Nelson~
Jr., City Engineer, submitted to the City Council Contract No. 302 for the
furnishing of one survey truck and recommended approval thereof;
NOW~ THEREFORE~ BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That Contract No. 302 be~ and the same is
hereby approved for the furnishing of one survey truck for use of the City of
Vernon.
SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is hereby
directed to give notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for furnishing one
survey truck in accordance with Contract No. 302, and the Notice Inviting
Sealed Proposals contained in said Contract No. 302.
SECTION 3:
There being no newspaper of general circula-
tion printed, published and circulated in the City of Vernon~ the City Clerk is
hereby directed to post said Notice. or cause the same to b~osted~ in three
{3} of the most public places in said City~ to wit: at the northwest corner of
38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue; at the northeast corner of Leonis Boulevard
and Pacific Boulevard~ and on the bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall
of the City of Vernon~ located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue in said City.
SECTION 4:
The first posting of said Notice shall be not
less than ten {1O} days before the date of opening bids for the proposed equip-
ment. The Notice shall distinctly state the equipment to be purchased.
SECTION 5:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution~ and thereupon and thereafter the
same shall be in full force and effect.

NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS OR BIDS
FOR FURNISHING A SURVEY TRUCK~ IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 302 OF
THE CITY OF VERNON.
Pursuant to Resolution No. 2674 of the City of Vernon, adopted on
the 17th day of December, 1963, directing same, notice is hereby given that
sealed proposals or bids will be received by the City at the office of the City
Clerk, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, until the hour of two (2) o'clock P.M. on the
7th day of January, 1964, for furnishing a survey truck, in accordance with
Contract No. 302 approved by said City. The proposals will be publicly
opened and read in the Council Chambers on the date and at the time above

office of the City Engineer upon a payment to the City Clerk of a deposit of
ten dollars ($10.00) for each specification.
The truck and appurtenant equipment shall be in accordance with
Contract No. 302, heretofore approved by the City Council and now on file in
the office of the City Clerk of said City.
Bidders are hereby notified that, pursuant to the provisions of
Sections 1770-1781, inclusive, Labor Corle of California, the City Council of
the City of Vernon has ascertained the general prevailing rate of per diem
wages and rates for legal holidays and over-time work in the locality in which
this work is to be performe d, for each craft or type of workman or mechanic
needed to execute the contract which will be awarded to the successful bidder,
and that the Resolution establishing these prevailing rates is on file with the
City Clerk of the City of Vernon.
Notice is also hereby given that, pursuant to said Labor Code of
California, it shall be ma.ndatory upon the Contractor to whom the contract
is awarded, and upon any subcontractor under him, to pay all laborers,
workmen, or mechanics employed by them in the execution of the contract
not less than the said specified rates, which rates shall be included in the
contract to the successful bidder.
Notice is further hereby given that all bidders may submit with
their bids a sworn statement of their financial responsibility, technical

1 ability and experience. Such sworn statement may be required before award
2 is made to any particular bidder.
3 To be entitled to consideration~ each bid submitted pursuant to this
4 notice shall be made out on a form to be obtained at the Office of the City
5 Engineer; shall be accompanied by a certified check~ draft or bid bond~ pay-
6 able at a bank authorized to do business in the State of California~ made
7 payable at sight to the City Clerk of the City of Vernon, in amount equal to
8 ten per cent (10%) of the bid submitted. shallbe delivered to the City Clerk
9 of the City of Vernon in a sealed envelope at~ or before~ the time stated
10 herein. and must be plainly marked '!Proposal for Contract No. 302".
11 The above-mentioned check or bond shall be given as a guarantee
12 that the bidder will enter into a contract if awarded to him and will be
13 declared forfeited if the successful bidder refuses or neglects to enter into
14 a contract of the required form after being requested to do so by the City
15 Clerk of the City of Vernon, California. The successful bidder will be

required to furnish a labor and material bond in an amount equal to fifty per
cent (50%) of the Contract price, and a faithful performance bond in an amount
equal to one hundred per cent (100%) of the Contract price.
Unless otherwise required by law~ no bidder may withdraw his bid
for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening thereof.
A deposit of ten dollars ($10. 00) will be required to secure the
Plans and Specifications. as a guarantee that the Plans and Specifications
will be returned. which deposit will be refunded in case same are returned
to the City in good condition not later than forth-eight (48) hours after the
bids on the work will have been open<=>d.
The City of Vernon reserves the right to reject any and all bids
or wai.ve any informality in the bid.
