RESOLUTION NO. 2692
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHOR-
IZING THE COUNTY COUNSEL OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES TO
3 APPEAR AND REPRESENT THE CITY OF VERNON IN ALL ACTIONS FOR
RECOVERY OF PERSONAL PROPERTY TAXES PAID UNDER PROTEST~ AS
4 ASSESSED BY THE ASSESSOR OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES FOR AND
IN BEHALF OF THE CITY OF VERNON~ AND AS COLLECTED BY THE TAX
5 COLLECTOR OF THE COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES FOR AND IN BEHALF OF
THE CITY OF VERNON.

7 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE"CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:

WHEREAS, the Assessor of the County of Los Angeles assesses
9 personal property located within the City of Vernon for and in behalf of said City;
10 and,
11
WHEREAS, certain personal property taxes are paid under protest
12 and a suit is instituted for recovery of said taxes; and,
13
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City of Vernon, County
14 of Los Angeles" that the County Counsel's Office of Los Angeles County be
15 empowered to represent the City of Vernon in the aforementioned actions;

NOW.. THEREFORE.. BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon
18 hereby authorized the County Counsel of the County of Los Angeles to appear and
19 represent the City of Vernon in all actions for recovery of personal property
20 taxes paid under protest, as assessed by the Assessor of the County of Los
21 Angeles for and in behalf of the City of Vernon" and as collected by the Tax
22 Collector of the County of Los Angeles for and in behalf of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
24 certify to the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon and thereafter the same
25 shall be in full force and effect.
