RESOLUTION NO. 2701
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON SPONSOR
ING THE CITY OF..VERNON BOWLING LEAGUES.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS. each year a tournament is held by members of the
Vernon Bowling Leagues; and
WHEREAS. Lon Herman has by his efforts continually made a
success of said tournaments; and
WHEREAS,? the City of Palm Springs hosts said tournament;
NOWII. THEREFOREII BE IT RESOLVED:
SECTION 1:
That the City Council of the City of Vernon here
12 bypasses this Resolution sponsoring the City of Vernon Bowling Leagues
13 Tournament.

SECTION 2:
The City Council of the City of Vernon takes
l5 this opportunity to send greetings to the City Council of the City of Palm Spring .

SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
17 certify to the pas,sage of this Resolution. and thereupon and thereafter the same
18 shall be in full force and effect.
19 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 21st day of April" 1964.

The City of Vernon Bowling League team. f.Gve~
progressively increased in number so that at the present time there
are sixty eight teams bowling in two bowling establishments.
City of Vernon industries are well represented by the members of
these leagues.

Once each year a tournClment is held in Palm Springs,
Cal ifornia and most of the members participate. It is held on a weekend
and the bowlers may bring their families to enjoy the reduced rCltes
offered by the Riviera Hotel. The city officials of Palm Springs welcome
our organization each year.
It will be appreciated if your honorable body wovld
pass a resolution sponsoring the yearly tournament which will be held
July 11 to Q'th, 1964. The bowling establishment owner will furnish
the trophies which will be presented to the winners of the various events,
at no cost to the bowlers or the city.
This project is a good public relations media not only
between the City and industry, but also with the City of Palm Springs.
