Z II 0 ~ :;: 8 Z = ::ffi 32 > . . . . 1 RESOLUTION NO. 2702 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON GRANT- ING A ZONING VARIANCE FOR GRANT OIL TOOL COMPANY. 3 4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS: 5 WHEREAS, an application for a zoning variance was filed with the 6 City Clerk on or about the 31st day of March. 1964, by GRANT OIL TOOL 7 COMPANY. for a variance under the provisions of Ordinance No. 752 on that 8 certain parcel of land situated in the City of Vernon. and more particularly 9 described as follows# to wit: 10 Beginning at the southeasterly corner of Lot 21. Block Number 6, New Vernon as recorded in Book 4. page 11 64 of Maps in the Office of the County Recorder,? County of Los Angeles" Los Angeles, California,? thence 12 westerly 290 feet along the northerly line of East Forty Fifth Street {Formerly known as Audrey Street},? thence 13 northerly 133.50 feet" thence easterly 290 feet along a line 133.50 feet distant from and parallel to the north- 14 erly line of East Forty Fifth Street,? thence southerly 133.5 feet along the easterly line of the aforementioned 15 Lot 21 to the point of beginning. 16 Beginning at a point in the easterly line of Hawthorne Avenue located 267 feet from the intersection of said 17 easterly line of Hawthorne Avenue and the southerly line of Vernon Avenue. as recorded in Book 54 page 18 44 of Miscellaneous Records in the Office of the County Recorder. County of Los Angeles# Los Angeles" 19 California. thence easterly 80 feet ona line parallel to the southerly line of Vernon Avenue to the true point of 20 beginningll thence northerly 133.50 feet along a line parallel to the easterly line of Hawthorne Avenue" 21 thence easterly 40 feet along a line parallel to the southerly line of Vernon Avenue, thence southerly 22 133.50 feet along a line parallel to the easterly line of Hawthorne Avenue. thence westerly 40 feet along a 23 line parallel to the southerly line of Vernon Avenue to the true point of beginning. 24 25 26 27 WHEREAS. the application for variance was regularly set for hearing before the City Council on the 28th day of April, 1964 at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A. M.. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue" in the City of Vernon. California; and WHEREAS, all notices as required under said Ordinance were regularly and duly given of the time and place of said hearing. and the City Council having heard the matter on the 28th day of April, 1964. at the hour of 10:00 o'clock A. THERE FORE# the City Council of the City of Vernon does 7 find as follows: 8 1. That the property hereinabove referred to and described is suit 9 able for the purpose for which the petitioner requesting such variance intends 10 to use it. to wit: for the manufacture of oil well tools. 11 2. That unnecessary hardship would be put upon petitioner as the 12 owner of said property in the use of said property if his request for a variance 13 was denied. 14 3. That results inconsistent with the general purpose of Ordinance 15 No. 752 would result if the request for such variance was denied. 16 4. That there are exceptional or extraordinary circumstances or 17 conditions applicable to the property involved. or to the intended use of the 18 property, that do not apply generally toAhe property or class of uses in the 19 same district or zone. 20 5. That such variance is necessary for the preservation am enjoy- 21 ment of a substantial property right of the petitioner. 22 6. That the granting of such variance will not be materially 23 I detrimental to the public welfarell or injurious to the property or improvements 24 25 26 27 in such zone or district in which the property is located. 7. The variance covering the property hereinabove described is granted for the manufacture of oil well tools. subject to the following conditions which the City Council deems proper to preserve the public health.. safety. con- venience. welfare# and the general intent and purpose of the zoning ordinance. as amended: A. The Grantee of the variance shall comply with all City,? The property shall be sewered and drainage controlled in accordance with the requirements of the Vernon City Council; no condition detrimental to the public health or safety shall result from the use granted under this variance. C. No nuisance shall be permitted on said premises. or result from the grante d use.
