2 A RESOLUTION OF THE' CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON WITHDRAWING
CERTAIN TERRITORY FROM THE EAST LOS. ANGELES COUNTY FIRE PROTECTION
'.3 DISTRICT.
4 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
5 WHEREAS, the City of Vernon did annex certain territory
6 lying within the East Los Angeles County Fire Protection District;
7 and
8 WHEREAS, on the 6th day of June, 1966, Frank M. Jordan,
9 Secretary of the State of California, did certify that a copy of
10 Ordinance No. 778 setting forth approval of the annexation to the
11 City of Vernon of contiguous uninhabited territory designated as
12 "Packers Island Annexation", was filed in his office pursuant to
13 the provisions of Section 35317 of the Government Code of the
14 State of California; and
15 WHEREAS, on August 15, 1966, F. A. Ziemer, City Clerk of
16 the City of Vernon, did file affidavit of completion of said
17 annexation with the Los Angeles County Recorder. pursuant to the
18 provisions of Section 34080 of the Government Code of the State of
19 California; and
20 WHEREAS, on August 16, 1966, Ray E. Lee, Recorder of
21 Los Angeles County, did file City Clerk's affidavit of completion
22 of said annexation as DocUDlent No. 2077 (File No. F 1944);
23 NOW ,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION '1: The City Council of the City of Vernon,
25 under authority granted by Section 14540 of the Health and Safety
26 Code of the State of California, does declare that certain ter-
27 ri tory designated as "Packers Island Annexation't withdrawn from the
28 East Los Angeles County Fire Protection District. Said "Packers
29 Island Annexation" is all that territory situate in the County of
30 Los Angeles, State of California, more particularly described as:
31 Beginning at the northwest corner of lot 10 of .500 Acre
Tract Los Angeles Fruit .Land Association, as per map of Tract No.
32 6056 filed in book 74 at page 33 of Maps in the office of the

Recorder of Los Angeles County, California; said pOint'being on
thebounda:ry of the City of Vernon as it existed on November 1,
1965, thence following said boundary in all its various courses
to the point of beginning.
SECTION 2: Pursuant to Section 14540 of the Health and
Safety Code of the State of California, the City Council of the
City of Vernon hereby fixes the effective date of the withdrawal
of the above described territory from the East Los Angeles County
Fire Protection District as November 1, 1966.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon is
hereby directed to file a certified copy of this Resolution with
the State Board of Equalization, the Governing Body.. of the East
Los Angeles County Fire Protection District, the Los Angeles County
Clerk, the Registrar of Voters, and the Los Angeles County Assessor.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this Resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
ADOPTED and APPROVED this 6th day of September, 1966.
