RESOLUTION NO. 2860
A RESOLUTION .OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON,DETERJlINING
FINAL ACTION ON THE SALE OF A SITE DEDICATED TO A PUBLIC USE,
DECLARING THE CITY'S INTENTION TO SELL SAID PROPERTY, AND DETER-
.MINING THAT NO PROTESTS HAVE BEEN RECEIVED.
5 THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
6 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon, pursuant
7 to Resolution No. 2858, has held a hearing to hear protests of the
8 sale of the after-described property, on the 4th day of October,
9 1966, at the hour of 1:15 o'clock P.M., in the Council Cham.bers of
10 the City Council, in the City Hall, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue,
11 in the City of Vernon,
12 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED:

SECTION 1: That the .City Council of the City of Vernon
14 does hereby find that there are no protests, either written or oral,
15 to the sale of certain hereinafter described public property.

SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
17 finds that it is in the public interests and convenience to require
18 the sale of a public site dedicated to a public use, asher.einafter
19 described.

SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
21 hereby agrees to sell said .property, as hereinafte.r described, to
22 BethleheD).Steelcorporation, a Delaware corporation, upon the terms
23 and conditions as set forth in that certain Memorandum. ,of Agreement
24 entered into between Bethlehem Steel 'j Corporation, a Delaware
25 corporation, andCi ty of Vernon, a municipal corporation, and,
26 further, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth in escrow
27 instructions with Title Insurance and Trust Company in escrow num.-
28 ber 6630036.

SECTION 4: That the property to be sold is described
30 as follows:
31 That portion of sai,dRancho San Antonio, in the 'county
of Los Angeles, state of California, bounded by the fol-
32 lowing described lines:

Beginning at the intersection of the easterly line of
Boyle Avenue, as described in the deed to the County of
Los Angeles, recorded in book 4490 page 72 of Deeds, re-
cords of said county, with the northerly line of the right
of way of Pacific Electric Railway Company, as described
in the deed recorded in book 1759 page 153 of Deeds,
records of said county; th~nce along said easterly line,
North 010 17' 55ft West 60.63 feet; thence South 830 03' 25"
East to the southwesterly line of the 20 foot strip of land
first described in deed to Pacific Electric Railway Company,
recorded in book 6678 page 94 of Deeds, records of said
county; thence southeasterly, along said southwesterly line,
to the northerly line of said right of way of Pacific
Electric Railway Company, as described in said deed recorded
in book 1759 page 153 of Deeds; thence ~long said northerly
line, North 830 03' 25" West to an angle point therein;
thence South 60 56' 35" West 20 feet to an angle point in
said northerly line; thence along said northerly line,
North 830 03' 25" West to the point of beginning.
RESERVING therefrom, unto the Grantor herein, its
successors and assigns, an easement over the northerly
twenty-five (25) feet of said land for the construction,
reconstruction, operation and maintenance of a sewer line.
Said Grantor covenants for itself, its successors and
assigns to reconstruct, operate and maintain said sewer
line in such a manner as to interfere as little as possible
with the use of the surface of the ground for road and
railroad purposes and after any reconstruction or maintenance
to fill up any hole, trench, or other excavation, remove all
excess dirt, and restore the premises so far as possible to
their original appearance and condition.
SECTION 5: That the Mayor and City Clerk of the City of
19 Vernon are hereby authorized to execute said escrow instructions
20 and, further, to execute and deliver a deed in order to complete
21 said escrow instructions.

SECTION '6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
23 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and there-
24 after the same shall be in full force and effect.
25 ADOPTED and APPROVED this 4th day of october, 1966.

5 hereby certify that the foregoing resolution, being Resolution
6 No. 2869, was duly adopted by the City Council of the City of
'1 Vernon, and approved by the Mayor of said City, at a Regular
8 Meeting of the City Council, which meeting was also designated
9 as the time and place fixed for the taking of final action of the
10 sale of the public property described in said resolution, held on
11 October 4,1966.
